As the end of the show draws ever nearer, more and more details about the grand finale of Game of Thrones are becoming clearer.
Yesterday saw the release of a dramatic new teaser which saw ice and fire squaring off with one another.
A dangerous battle of the elements aside, another intriguing tidbit has emerged ahead of next April’s season premiere – and it concerns the very end of Game of Thrones.
Creators Dan Weiss and David Benioff have let slip for the first time that it was at the conclusion of season three that they first figured out how they would bring the curtain down on the show.
GoT star Maisie Williams – who plays Arya Stark – got the exclusive out of her bosses during a panel discussion at the Comic Con Experience in Brazil last night (6 December).
‘Sometime after we finished the third season is when we knew [how GoT would end],’ came the reply from Weiss and Benioff (presumably not spoken in unison).
Cheers for that one, Maisie – we owe you.
Does this new information mean that we all now have to go back and studiously pour over all ten episodes of season three – which aired back in 2013 – in order to glean any possible clues about the GoT finale?
Well, that’d certainly be one way to spend and/or while away your entire weekend…
The final season of Game of Thrones is expected to premiere in April 2019.
