It broke a number of records when the season finale aired, surpassing the likes of House of The Dragon in terms of overall viewership. The second season of the show is already in the works, with fans highly excited about the arrival of an important character from the video game.

The video game adaptation of the highly popular video game The Last of Us not only pays a beautiful homage to the source material by following it quite closely, but the show also featured some of the most beloved actors from the franchise. While Troy Baker (original Joel) ended up playing a minor role in episode 8, Laura Bailey, who voiced Abby in The Last of Us Part 2, stars as one of the nurses in the operating theater where Ellie is being prepped for surgery.

Who is Abby Anderson?
Spoiler Alert: Abby can be described both as a protagonist and an antagonist, depending on your perspective, who starred in The Last of Us Part II. She is part of a militant group that formed after the fall of Fireflies following Joel’s brutal rampage. Her father was the doctor that Joel kills, the last person on earth who could’ve manufactured an antidote to the cordyceps infection. Abby’s only goal is to find Joel and get revenge.
Will The Last of Us Season 2 have a time jump?
According to the video game, it should have a time skip of 5 years, where Ellie grows up from 14 to 19. Co-showrunner Craig Mazin isn’t really sure how much time will be skipped between the two seasons, but he is sure as hell there won’t be a recasting like House of The Dragon.
Mazin told TheGamer, “I don’t want to pin anything down. Obviously, the time jump is important, to some extent. It reflects the changing nature of Ellie’s relationship with Joel, as she gets older. In the game, as you point out, she goes from 14 to 19, I believe. But no, we are not doing House of the Dragon leaps. Those were very significant leaps in age, and we don’t have that. So, no recasting will occur. Not on my watch.”
