Game of Thrones wasn’t just the biggest show of the century, it was a huge family and a way of life for so many people for nearly a decade. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, something that not only the fans but the cast and the crew find hard to move away from. Even though the show’s alums Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell) and Bella Ramsey (Lyanna Mormont) didn’t spend any time together on-screen, when they met on the set of their new HBO show The Last of Us, they instantly hit it off. And it can be seen in their bonding over various interviews they have been doing as the show’s premiere slowly draws closer.

The Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin recently talked to Rotten Tomatoes about how grateful he was when Pedro and Bella took no time into settling into their new roles, “We were looking for people that we felt just embodied the soul of Joel and Ellie. And we got those people, for sure. We had no question about that. But then it was sort of like what will they be like together. That’s where the luck happens. Because they bonded so fast and so profoundly, I mean they are like a unit. You couldn’t tear them apart if you tried.”
“They love each other, and we love them, you know. We wanted to replicate for everybody, whether they played the games or not, the experience of a man who was closed off and broken, just opening up. He didn’t even realize it was happening and letting this love back in. Which is a dangerous thing to do and we also wanted to feel the pain of this girl who is lonely and lost and has never had a family. Never been protected or cared about. And they delivered it in the most beautiful way.”
