Finally, the much-awaited Game of Thrones Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection has been launched. It has arrived right in time, five months ahead of the premiere of the new season. The limited-edition whiskies are inspired by 7 major houses of Westeros and the Night’s Watch from the show and the wide world of ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’.
This Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection features seven scotches based upon the iconic Houses of the Seven Kingdoms: Tyrell, Baratheon, Stark, Targaryen, Lannister, Greyjoy, and Tully. Additionally, it also includes a beverage based upon the Night’s Watch. All the bottles come in clear glass bottles except for the Night’s Watch – which as usual, has taken the Black.
Moreover, each of the beverages has been paired with different Whisky distilleries from across Scotland namely:
- Game of Thrones HouseTully– Singleton of Glendullan Select
- Game of Thrones House Stark – Dalwhinnie Winter’s Frost
- Game of Thrones House Targaryen – Cardhu Gold Reserve
- Game of Thrones House Lannister – Lagavulin 9 Year Old
- Game of Thrones House Greyjoy – Talisker Select Reserve
- Game of Thrones House Baratheon – Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old
- Game of Thrones House Tyrell – Clynelish Reserve
- Game of Thrones The Night’s Watch – Oban Bay Reserve
The Single Malt Scotch Whisky Collection was announced alongside the launch of Johnnie Walker’s White Walker scotch whiskey back in October. Speaking on the announcement was Jeff Peters, Vice President, Licensing & Retail at HBO. He had said:
“We knew there was an appetite for a Game of Thrones whisky and once we saw Diageo’s vision for a way to collaborate together we knew the idea was perfect and the time was now. From the beginning, they understood that we wanted to create something special, and they’ve accomplished that with both White Walker by Johnnie Walker and the single malt collection. We’re confident fans will enjoy sipping these delicious whiskies as they wait for season eight and beyond.”
