I’m not ready for the final season of Killing Eve! But alas, it is upon us. BBC/AMC has dropped a trailer for the fourth and final season, and murder is on everyone’s mind. That doesn’t sound very different from seasons past, but even Eve (Sandra Oh) seems to have caught the bug after shooting someone in the hand.
The trailer promises us a thrilling, riveting end to the story that captured the world and snagged multiple awards along the way. We see glimpses of Villanelle (Jodie Comer) trying to grapple with the fact that she can’t stop murdering, and we see Eve with a new partner (romantic and work).
I don’t know if anyone else caught this in the trailer, but there is one shot with Villanelle in a car that strikes me as very Bonnie and Clyde-esque. It might be too soon to start theorizing, but dare I hope that at the end of this story Eve and Villanelle ride off into the sunset together as murderous lovers? Just saying, it’s a possibility.
Killing Eve’s final season is going to be a rollercoaster ride
Now that Eve has gotten on the murder train, I can’t imagine how wild things are going to get. Based on the official synopsis, we’ve got plenty of revenge and violence heading our way:
After the emotional climax of Season Three, Eve (Sandra Oh), Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) are in very different places. Following Eve and Villanelle’s exchange on the bridge, Eve is on a revenge mission, while Villanelle has found a brand-new community in an attempt to prove she’s not a “monster.” Having killed Paul, Carolyn goes to extraordinary lengths to continue to chase down The Twelve and the person that ordered Kenny’s hit. This season follows our extraordinary women, each driven by passion, revenge and obsession, building towards a messy, nuanced and totally glorious series finale.
Get ready to bid farewell to Killing Eve when the fourth and final season begins on February 27 on BBC America and AMC.
