The Last of Us is the new cash cow of HBO. Deemed one of the best video game adaptations to date, each episode has ramped up the intensity and excitement. The critics and the viewers are highly impressed by the quality of sceneries, storylines, costumes, and zombie makeup, however, the series has also faced its fair share of criticism. One of the newer ones that have recently surfaced online is apparently the show being Anti-Christian in nature.

Why did The Office star Rainn Wilson dislike The Last of Us?
The most recent criticism of HBO’s The Last of Us comes from a veteran in the acting industry, The Office star Rainn Wilson. Wilson recently took to Twitter to register his annoyance at the themes of anti-Christianity in Hollywood. He wrote:
“I do think there is an anti-Christian bias in Hollywood. As soon as the David character in The Last of Us started reading from the Bible I knew that he was going to be a horrific villain. Could there be a Bible-reading preacher on a show who is actually loving and kind?”

How did the fans react to Rainn Wilson’s statement?
There was a massive online outrage towards Wilson’s comment, with a few of the fans calling him tone-deaf. Here are a few replies to his Tweet:
Christians have used their religion to take away women’s autonomy. They are fighting to dismantle libraries and stop healthcare for trans people. They invoke their god while they do it, but you’d like us to feature a kindly preacher in a tv series. To what end? This feels very… https://t.co/Kk0krhFoD0

They’re assisting children in making life-altering, irreversible changes to their bodies before… https://t.co/z14pWfqnMb

You read “anti Christian bias” and thought he was asking for a demonstration

That’s interesting because he didn’t mention anything negative at all but you knew exactly what he was talking about huh? Didn’t you? 🙂

The best picture of a Christian I’ve ever seen in media is Mr Rogers, though.
He was a man of immense faith and conviction, and near universally loved and respected in media. pic.twitter.com/cVjiiTAweJ

“As soon as the David character in “The Last of Us”
started reading from the Bible I knew that he was going to be a horrific villain.”The main cliche used by Stephen King, btw.

When does The Last of Us Season 2 begin filming?
In a recent interview with Collider, Pascal said, “In the year 2023? Oh, what season are we in now? We’re getting into spring? Yes, there is a chance. Yes.” The first season of The Last of Us took around 18 months to film. So, looking at the time gap, there’s a high probability that the second season won’t be here until 2025.
