  1. I watched and love this video a while ago but just realized something interesting. There are all these themes of existential horror going on, yet the smartest being in the universe is still a human being. Which would indicate our species and our planet's huge importance, the opposite of existential horror

  5. So i'm doing a philosophy project on rick and morty. This is from the assignment. "Your presentation should highlight the process of philosophy (philosophers) trying to answer big picture questions using reason." and basically I'm not sure what I'm asking but if soon as possible if you can tell me what philosopher I can use basically?? thank you!!

  28. Being cosmically insignificant is actually pretty liberating. You could achieve greatness or be a complete failure; neither will matter. So you no longer have to constantly worry about all the times you fucked up and are going to fuck up. You're pretty much free to do anything.

  29. We can accept that life has no meaning but if life really had no meaning you shouldn't be able to know that. Accepting that we have no purpose is basically saying our purpose is to understand that we have no purpose but that contradicts cuz we're not supposed to have a purpose at all.

  36. To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

    And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎
