From the swashbuckling Zorro to the gunslinging mariachi, Antonio Banderas has been a household name for decades. He remained a constant on our screens over the years, reprising the role of Zorro and joining big budget franchises in Shrek and Spy Kids. But recently, his status as a genuine A-lister has come into question. We don’t really hear much from Banderas nowadays, and here’s why…

  1. But he's making time for movies still, and why are they shitty B movie type films? They are terrible and doesn't he realize putting work into those is eating away at his career? BTW Stoic / AKA Acts or Vengeance is another shitty B Movie and Salty / Gun Shy and Unchained or whatever it's called now are both Garbage too stuck in Straight to DVD limbo. He must not have one or have an agent as bad as John Travolta. Don't these actors realize when they have such horrible agents?

  2. To be fair, that Expendables movie did suck mightily; but, the only really good part about it was Antonio Banderas. I haven't seen Automata or whatever it's called, but, my sister did and she loved it – because of Antonio Banderas' acting. His acting was the only reason she rented it or stayed watching it.

  3. The Skin I Live In (2011) is a grandiose masterpiece, well known all around the world (apart from the US, where people watch only Hollywood movies and basically ignore or dismiss whatever is going on in the rest of the world). Then, Banderas is currently working as an actor on three different movies, which are either being filmed or already in post-production and set to be distributed either at the end of 2017 or in 2018. Lest forget that he has also directed two movies, of which one (Summer Rain – 2006) is very good (it was awarded at the Berlin Film Festival). He is also working on his third movie as a director. He also worked in theatre and he is currently writing and also studying fashion design at the famous Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Designs in London. I think he is an interesting and eclectic person who is following his passions. Much better than all those other ageing Hollywood stars who keeps on playing the parts of the eternal young adventurers, or who accept any single part, even the shittiest ones, just to keep on staying on the red carpet.

  4. Honestly it's good to know that he's still going around doing things. I do miss seeing him in films, but as long as he's taking care of himself and doing something he enjoys, it's just as good.

  5. Puss In Boots hasn't yet reached the end – the fifth season just came out on Netflix and I still enjoy it. They couldn't have found a better voice for the character and I, for one, hope there is a lot more Puss in Boots to come.
