Blah blah HBO blah. It’s that time again. Here come the lists! The best shows of the year! The best shows of the decade! The “oh god I haven’t watching that one yet either” compilation.
The funny thing is, though, for all the fuss of prestigious Netflix dramas, they won’t be the source of precious memories of the 2010s in television. No, it’ll be when BBC News invited a dog called Bounce onto the news and gave him a title like all of their other guests. Or the time Holly and Phil presented This Morning straight after an awards ceremony without having even gone to bed yet.Â
These aren’t the splashy, expensive bits of television, but the parts that capture the drama and entertainment of human life….
