Right… Another great video, but I have one major question about Flea Bottom in the show. GoT generally has a pattern regarding accents (Posh Southern in the South, Yorkshire in the north, vaguely North UK/Scandiwegian beyond the wall etc). But F.B. has THREE distinct accents – as different as Canada and Texas or Russia and Ireland!
Davos is Tynesyde, Gendry is Mancunian and the extras all seem cockney. Yet Davos says at one point "The accent gives it away I suppose?" When someone pinpoints his heritage. Davos' Geordie is 150 miles from Gendry's Yorkshire and both up to 300 miles from the southern accent of the general FB populace…
Non Brits might find this overly critical… but don't ghetto's generally have a very distinct accent by which they can both be recognised and distinguish themselves from outsiders. If the argument then goes 'Well… it's a melting pot' then how could anyone say "I recognised the accent, you're from fleabottom!"
Just wondered why The Onion Knight has a Geordie accent, is Fleabottom near Newcastle? 😊
I can't wait to travel to Winterfell !
Looking foreward to travell across Westeros with you, even Essos maybye. Great series 🙂
