I think she is the original nissa nissa who after her death got resurrected by AA[aka the Lord of Light] with the kiss of life and now she go to sacrifice herself again for the new AA[Jon]..She can control the fire and the light as she shows in us in S2 bringing the shadow baby ..also she in the S5 said to Jon that together can create light,fire and shadows and defeating the real enemy..In S6 after Davos/Jon got find the sacrifice of Shireen by her..Davos threatened to kill her and Jon to execute her if she returns to the North..she said that she is ready to die many years ago [she is almost 500 years old and maybe more] and to help Jon with her life to defeat the NK..Jon also has dreams about killing Ygritte with Lightbringer…Mellisandre got repeat Ygritte words to him in S5 when she was trying to hook up with him and he refuses..That could be a very significant point We had thing that Danny could be nissa nissa..but things after S7 they are start to changing for her ..because of the upcoming pregnancy and child who she will give birth to S8….So Jon might chooses Mellisandra as nissa nissa instead of Danny and their unborn son or Mellisandra to beg him to kill herself with his sword….she is capable to do that..becoz Mellisandra somehow is in love with Jon.
