The Walking Dead just went and dropped one heck of a dramatic episode for the season 10B premiere.
However, it seems fans were left slightly disappointed as the whole thing was shot inside a cave – and they could barely see anything!
Taking to Twitter, viewers compared the show to the time Game Of Thrones was in complete darkness for the season eight installment titled The Long Night.
‘I know they’re in a cave but I’m getting #TheLongNight flashbacks here,’ one wrote while someone else added: ‘Wtf it’s like Game of Thrones in that cave, it’s so dark I can’t see anything!’
Others echoed the same sentiment: ‘Why is this cave scene on #TheWalkingDead soooo dark I can’t see a thing.’
If you need reminding on how to turn up your TV brightness, here’s the guide we put together following that tragic GOT episode.
But while fans of the zombie hit missed out on Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol’s (Melissa McBride) underground drama, they sure got a feast for their eyes in that Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Alpha (Samantha Morton) sex scene.
While we didn’t actually see them get down and dirty in the woods – Alpha forced Negan to strip at gunpoint with his back to the Whisperer leader, as she got naked too.
Thinking he was going to be shot, the Saviour turned around to see Alpha completely undressed with only her skin mask on – which she refused to take off.
But that didn’t make Negan shy away, and he still went along with everything after confessing it’d been ‘so long’ he’d take his chances.
Talking about the bizarre twist of events, showrunner Angela Kang defended her choice to include the seconds that left fans squirming in their seats.
She told Entertainment Weekly: ‘Alpha and Negan, obviously something has shifted in that relationship. So we’ll see in the season going forward where that takes us.’
On their decision to air the scene, Angela lays the blame squarely on the shoulders of writer David Johnson, who penned the creepy moment.
‘I was like, “This is so weird. I don’t know if I can air this. You know what? We kind of have to do this”,’ she explained. ‘I think it really tracks with who Alpha is.’
The Walking Dead airs Sundays on AMC in the US and Fox the following day in the UK.
