The Walking Dead Season 8 Negan & Daryl Theory & Discussion – Can Daryl & Negan/Saviors Coexist?

Since they have been giving JDM more development on his character I am slightly (very slightly) liking Negan now and seeing that maybe this can be turned around. I love JDM.

I personally don't see how Daryl can coexist with Negan either. He's seeking vengeance on his own and not being a team player. He changed before, but he has a lot of hate in his heart. We shall see.

I love both actors JDM an Norman an there characters! In my opinion the only way they can coexist is with Negan in prison an thats where he belongs well there or dead but at least for a while I dont see any other way to have the two of them living together in the same community. But strangers things an all so we will see!!!

Remember in the comics when Dwight kills a few saviors when they are throwing grenades over the wall? which would be the mid season finale when the saviors attack. What if Dwight saves Tara/Daryl/both and they change how they feel about him.

For people who dislike Daryl's character because of what he's doing then what exactly were you excited about all out war for ? Because he's the only one who's brining war to this season

Daryl and Rick are essential, I agree. But I don't mind him getting killed off as a cost of the difference in his view and Rick's view. It is also a war after all. And although it would lower the ratings, many fans seem to dislike his character now more than ever (I think the producers are preparing Daryl's death to happen soon). Obviously it can be anyone's death that leads Rick to be teary eyed later, and it just wouldn't make sense to kill off Carl and to let Negan live. If Carl gets killed off, I'm sure either Rick or Daryl would kill Negan. If Daryl dies, Rick can still let Negan live because Daryl is still not as precious as Carl to Rick. Dwight also has an important role in the comic and Sherry's storyline still remains a mystery, so I think Daryl should die and Dwight should replace him.

If you ask me straight who is more important between Darryl & Negan? Darryl! By far. And it's not just "fan-girl"ing. It's that he's part of the heart of the show as a character, on top of the actor being a 'cash cow' for the series. I think he plays the character well & that Darryl can has huge potential in future storyline! Darryl became bffs with Rick after being introduced the way they did (Merel!)… He is capable of being a part of the future, & has depth within him.

Daryl wants to drive the truck into the Sanctuary, just like Holly did in the comic book????? Holly drove the truck into the Sanctuary and was captured and you know the rest…Here is Daryl talking about doing exactly that. I know that Sasha was the one who seemed to have taken on the Holly story line supposedly but this is starting to take on that roll as well.

Daryl dies this season.
1.) Norman Reedus makes $550k / episode now. Viewership is dropping and the show runners have to cut someone. It won't be Rick, likely not Negan, so it will be Daryl.
2.) He's dead in the comics
3.) They've done nothing positive with his character for several seasons now. He had the torture thing happen, that was "interesting" but he isn't even likable anymore. They had any number of opportunities to give his character ANYTHING interesting besides motorcycling and they haven't. They are pushing other characters instead.
4.) Like you said, he's at odds with everyone, going rogue vs Rick, flipping his shit and won't live in peace with any saviors.

Negan ives in the comic….. No1 has died (major character)…. Now if HE lives…. DARRYL may die…. The ONLY way for Negan to die if Carl dies due to the War with Negan.
