Here’s a list of the top ten deadliest TV shows (Picture: AMC / HBO)

It seems we are a generation obsessed with death.

Television appears to be making it the norm – with no good series ever ending without a main character passing away in an emotional, heart wrenching scene.

Whether it be a murder mystery, a zombie apocalypse, or even some sci-fi fantasy – it’s as though we’re confronted with the morbid topic on a daily basis.

Even Gossip Girl teased at a number of deaths throughout the six series, leaving fans scared at what the future might hold for the infamous Chuck Bass.

But it appears we are never satisfied with just one death, and keep wanting more gruesome scenes to watch – will we ever stop?

Remember Glenn’s death scene? How could you forget! (Picture: AMC)

In 2016, Ofcom were called to investigate The Walking Dead after Negan savagely beat the beloved characters Abraham and Glenn to death with his baseball bat.

But surprisingly enough, despite the copious amounts of zombies, the hit AMC series only ranked at eight position in the top ten deadliest TV series list, with 1,946 deaths.

Maybe taking something down once it’s already dead doesn’t actually count as killing it.

Game Of Thrones however, came in second place with 174,373 deaths.

We’re unsure as to whether or not this includes Jon Snow’s resurrection, thanks to the Red Witch bringing him back to life, but even without Jon’s death included in the mix, that’s still a lot of lives lost.

Closely behind in third place was Humans with 110,059 deaths, surely if zombies aren’t included in the death count Humanoids won’t be.

But the season that blew all the rest out of the water was, that’s right – Black Mirror, with an astonishing 387,063 deaths.
