This sounds like a desperate and unnecessarily dark plot twist that actually undermines the (one)central glimmer of optimism expressed as by Scully and Mulder's relationship…I have followed X-Files since it began and was looking forward to series 11 but am now not sure I will bother. Seems it is following the trend of extreme darkness in much of modern culture. No wonder Gillian seems not to want to do a further series…on the other hand, whenever can the CSM be believed … ?
Defend it all you like SURE it's a ''twists'' but a f**cked up one at that even for the x files
I dont care whatever anyone says, it only makes it interesting. Yes its fucked up and its basically still rape, but that only makes it much interesting, especially this could be for real the end since Gillian looks not coming back. Imagine what if in the finale, Mulder & Scully got to know this, imagine their character's anger, esp Mulder's hunting CSM to kill him, and this will add up. Also there's been countless portrayal of rape in film and TV, but where's the outrage? Yea its a very bold move that'll make some fans shocked, divided and mad, like on The Last Jedi, but it's more of a calculated move than that, that I think landed more successfully. I really think the outrage really comes from the failed expectations of Mulder Scully shippers, I know, I was hoping too. But please be open minded. After all this is The X Files, its crazy, absurb and sometime fucked up. Let's wait for the finale before we fully judge it. My take for now is its maddening but its interesting
