News of the Game Of Thrones engagement between Kit Harington and Rose Leslie may have travelled fast – but not to everyone, it seems.

Because actor Thomas Brodie Sangster – who played Jojen Reed in the HBO saga – had no clue of the pair’s happy news, until he found out about it on live TV that is.

The 27-year-old had been on Good Morning Britain on Friday morning promoting the new series of Thunderbirds Are Go, in which he voices John Tracey.

But it wasn’t too long until talk turned to Game Of Thrones – and there was a surprise in store as Ben Shephard began: ‘I have to ask about Game Of Thrones as it’s been such a phenomenon…not least the big news that two of the stars are getting married as well.

‘So romance has blossomed offscreen as well as onscreen…did you know this?’

‘No,’ Thomas admitted, ‘I had no idea.’

Gasp!

The actor went on to suggest that Game Of Thrones could well be as fondly remembered as the TV puppet saga he’s currently a part of, saying: ‘It’s funny how things just come along and stick and people just go mad for them – Thunderbirds is up there with them.

‘I think Game Of Thrones will be around a long long time and will be remembered. It’s wonderful to be a part of things that have that longevity.’
