1. For all the flaws of the previous movies, I think Ragnarok went too far in the opposite direction in an attempt to remedy them.
Thor Ragnarok is a good film, but unfortunately its commitment to comedy undermines its dramatic impact; for a story as grand as the end of the world, and a character as legendary as Thor, I expected more gravitas and depth (the Russo brothers would make a truly epic Thor movie!) In fact at one point the film openly mocks the 'Shakespearean' tone of the previous two movies as much as it is possible to do so without breaking the fourth wall entirely.
But praise where it's due; as a comedy action adventure it worked very well (though even some of the action could've been better choreographed.) The characters are incredibly likeable and their naivety endearing (particularly Thor and Bruce/Hulk), the opening action scene in particular is amazing, it has a spirited, carefree energy to it and a certain quirky charm, and visually it's dazzling, it's retro aesthetic deliciously nostalgic…but I never really connected with it emotionally.
Hela was so 2-dimensional, her motivations contrived or obscure; she was inexplicably CGI at one point during a DIALOGUE scene (and during fighting, which was as obvious as the Neo vs multiple Agent Smiths scene in the Matrix Reloaded, which is inexcusable in 2017.) Though tbf this was the fault of the script; Cate played the seductive, sensual villainess cliché as well as the limitations allowed. I can almost hear Cate interrupting the filming mid-scene, turning to the director and asking "Are you sure this isn't too clichéd?" and he replies "Sure, it's clichéd…but I want you to OWN the cliché!" Ultimately, as a villain she wasn't very compelling; the character would've belonged better in a cartoon.
Much of the dialogue was great from a comedic perspective, but otherwise during the more dramatic moments it felt limp and lame, sidelining sincerity for the fleeting satisfaction of a punchline. SPOILER ALERT…Thor losing his eye was a mistake; as another reviewer said, much of Chris Hemsworth's/Thor's charm is expressed through his eyes, so why would you compromise that? One change to the character too many perhaps (yes, I'm aware he eventually loses an eye in the comics but it's perhaps one change too many in a single film)…SPOILERS END.
Maybe the Asgardian apocalypse was just practice for when the shit really hits the fan in Infinity War.

2. "Thor Ragnarok" was the first real MISSTEP with Marvel's handling of the Thor character. A fucking comedy about the destruction of Asgaard? People actually thought that was great? You know what? I don't think a good number of people know a good movie when they see one. Today, we want our movies bland, conformist, too much humor and non threatening. And this is exactly what Marvel has been doing for the past few years since "Iron Man 3" . . . with two or three exceptions. "Thor Ragnarok" is not one of those exceptions.

3. Why the fuck is everyone saying it's the funniest like thats some sort of achievement. Its not supposed to be a damn comedy for kids it had no depth whatsoever and completely ruined all of the development the characters have gone through. Pile of fucking garbage

4. Thor In The Marvel Cinematic Universe;
Thor (2011)
The Avengers (2012)
Thor: The Dark World (2013)
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Untitled Avengers 4 (2019)

5. Patty Jenkins is a HORRIBLE director. I don't care how much Wonder Woman made, it was absolutely stupid and terribly directed. Many cat-loving lonely and single women beefed up WW gross receipts and you know it.

6. Dammit. I hate videos like this because I actually enjoyed Dark World. It was flawed but I still liked it. But then when I see stuff like this all I see when I look back at the movie is would could (and should) have been. It would've made the "Asgard is a people" thing in Ragnarok so much better.

7. wow, really great ideas! The second movie was good, but it wasn't great and Loki was the best and least bland part of the film. It's not right that they let Loki steal the spotlight so much. I LOVE Loki, but it is a Thor movie after all. The Ragnarok film was much more balanced as far as Thor and Loki sharing screen time and likeable moments. In the second one, Loki steals the spotlight and he's in a freakin' dungeon for most of it! How does that even happen in a movie where Thor is supposed to be the main character?:P I totally understand Hemsworth wanting to change Thor a bit….Thor needed to be brought up to Loki's level of acting. And Ragnarok did this near perfectly.

8. I think that Thor was good. But I prefer Thor The Dark World. But I can see why people don't like iit. But I'm so glad that Patty Jenkins did not direct. Wonder Woman was NOT that great. It's only regarded as a good movie cause of the female lead. It was pretty well made but lacked on action…And I fell asleep cause I was SO bored with it

9. Mcu has only 3 bad films but still they got mixed reviews even though they should have been negative the worst is Thor the dark world it’s boring as fuck and then Incredible Hulk it was boring too
And that shitty ironman 2

10. That's what happens with any franchise that goes on and on. The original premise gets lost. Same with the Lethal Weapon series, Saw, Halloween, Friday the 13th and on and on and on…

11. My biggest problem with the film is the stagnation of Asgardian technology. Since fighting the dark elves, they have at least fought the frost giants, hela, and numerous other formidable forces they allude to. Yet, they still can't hold their own against an army they easily defeated thousands of years earlier.

12. It's sad that the film introduced a badass villain like Kurse but ultimately wastes him. He could've been a legit threat to the earth and all of the avengers as a whole. A character that can beat the shit out of thor and probably hulk too.

13. You think Thor Ragnarok is a good film. A misuse of Odin allfather, Is Hela the goddess of death or just a female version of Luke Cage's Diamondback?

The Hammer is just way too important to be treated like shit.
What was the point of the eye loss?

The jokes were good but not all lands. Let's be realistic, when you was watching Deadpool initially which film did you laugh more?

The action scenes in Ragnarok was weak AF.

Petty Jenkins and gal Godot were the only females. The writing, visuals were all done by men. Zack Snyder was on set to assist with the action sequences.

We should probably put a teenager behind the next marvel film and get that Oscar buzz.

Thor Ragnarok is a good film but it gets so many things so wrong that fans are willing to turn a blind eye.

Now, How will turn be written in infinity war? I hear he's going to get back his hammer? Why? How?

Fucking MCU now they will get X-men too and begin to merge 3/4 characters into 1.

14. "Should've been about a civil war between the 9 realms, didn't even need to involve earth."
Um, earth is one of the 9 realms so yeah you'd kinda need to at least mention it.

On a side note your rewrite souns awesome, marvel should hire you!

15. I don't think people understand. The Avengers disbanded; Tony went home, Thor returned to Asgard, Clint went home, Nat and Steve worked with SHIELD, and Bruce stayed out of trouble. They mention that Steve was the one who called the Avengers back together, for the sole purpose of chasing down Hydra. The Avengers would've disbanded afterward, but Ultron interrupted, and Steve kept the Avengers going. The Avengers simply didn't exist during The Dark World.
