  1. For you guys who bitching about Light's reaction, let me give you explanation:
The Original Japanese Light Yagami was ALREADY USING his Death Note and KNOW what the Death Note really was SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE meeting Ryuk. Perhaps, he also already calculated the possible existence of a supernatural creature that might come to him one day.

Meanwhile, this Light HAS NOT even "use" his Death Note yet and doesn't even know what the book really is before he meeting Ryuk, a creature which most American don't believe to be exist. Yes, I know many of people in U.S don't believe in supernatural beings.

So, it's logical if this version of Light will freak out. If you are a supernatural skeptic and then SUDDENLY meeting a creature like Ryuk, how would you react?

  2. Regarding point 3, you got it backwards. Upon writing the cause of death, you have an additional 6 minutes and 40 seconds to WRITE out any details regarding the death. Light Yagami in the anime did manipulate deaths basically weeks in advance to give him insurance if he'd be caught. Light Yagami could've likely manipulated victims like Light Turner, but Light Turner could only manipulate the deaths 48 hours preceeding the death.

  3. You just HAAAAD to say "white washing". You bitch about the "trend" of placing 80s music in here, but then you go on to bring up the "trendy" pussy ass whining of what you call "white washing". This is an American rendition of the original. OF COARSE there's going to be white people. A black guy played a major role and an Asian played an almost equally major role. You sound white. Go give all of your money to black people or shut the fuck up.

  4. The anime was WAY better, but that's not a surprise. Being mad about the "white washing" and that it's set in America is pretty dumb, if you want a non "white wash" and not set in America go watch the freaking TWO movies that are set in Japan. Stop bitching about an American take from an American company of the anime. It was an okay short movie based on a very well done 37 episode anime.
