Top 10 – Saddest Moments of Game of Thrones

Shireen's death is the saddest moment in the whole show in my opinion, she is really just an innocent girl who only wanted to help her father, sadly little did she know that by "helping" her father she was signing her death sentence. Worst of all, to think that the sacrifice was in vain only makes it sadder.

Hodor's death fucks me up every time

I found it sad when Margery and Loras died and then tommen. The music and atmosphere of it was dramatic

The same music in the scene where Ramsay rapes Sansa and where he is eaten alive as she watches 🙂 karma

Untll Top 4, it wasn't even sad.. It's more like I felt bad for it. The most saddest scene was not on the list, which was Ygritte's Death..

OK Now I need to be alone and bawl like a little bitch. Of all the sad scenes, the one that hounds and broke me and shocked and did every to me, was the rape of sansa by that bastard sick bitch.

For me, it was Hodor's sacrifice, one of the very best scenes in GoT overall.

I cried when Ygritte died and when Maergery and everyone in the sept died…

The sacrifice of the princess was definitely the one that got the tears flowing for me…

You can hear the bitterness in his voice, the regret of ever handing that small doll to his daughter. Shireen listens with rapt attention, smiling gently at hearing how her father defended her.
"I called in every maester on this side of the world. Every healer, every apothecary. They stopped the disease and saved your life. Because you did not belong across the world with the bloody stonemen. You were the Princess Shireen of House Baratheon. And you are my daughter."

Personally I think the saddest scene in the whole series was when Oberyn went to Tyrion to tell him he will be his champion and fight for him when nobody else would, not to mention that heartbreaking story about him when Tyrion was a baby.

imo Rickon's death should have been higher. Didn't see much of him, but his death was brutal

This show is one big cry fest.

I have to admit, I was sadder when Tywin died than moments 6-10

I though Khal Drogo's zombie was funny. Huge improvement in temperament. He was killed off too soon! And how could you not laugh at Cersei losing her children? How many children did she kill? Hmm, how does that work?

The top two are really heartbreaking. Great list, although I would've added Luwin's death too. He had a really sweet relationship with Bran and Rickon, and the actor was fantastic
