  1. Jaime might be one of the most honorable characters on the show. He's loyal to his family, but genuinely cares about the well being of others and these scenes show it. He takes on the name of the Kingslayer, but does so in his own hidden honor. He knows what he did and why he did it, and he doesn't need the peoples approval to think it honorable. He has so much range, and for whatever reason you can't hate him. He'll die honorably in the last season is my guess.

  2. Jaime is one of my all time favourite characters. He is so complex and has so many levels. His intentions are good, and his bad actions are when he is blinded by love. Of course he isn't perfect for many reasons, but he's such an interesting character. No one in the world could play him as perfectly as Nikolaj Coster-Waldau either, who is for me, the most under rated actor on Earth.

This is one the reasons Jaime is such a unique character. Most of the other characters in this show would have killed Locke out of revenge when they had the upper hand on someone who had tortured them.
This scene illustrates how pragmatic Jaime is compared to most of the other warriors in the GOT universe. He is such a fucking man he doesn't even consider Locke a threat worth killing, he doesn't even threaten him. He just says something to piss him off. Locke took has essence/pride, tortured, and humiliated him, and yet Jaime is not psychologically horrified of him the way Theon or Sansa is of Ramsay, and he also isn't bloodthirsty for revenge like Aria, the hound, cersei, or any number of characters would be. He came back, got what he wanted, and left.
