I THINK we can all agree that Tormund’s ongoing pursuit of Brienne has been one of the highlights of the last couple of seasons of Game of Thrones.

It is one of the few non-incestuous relationships that fans have been able to get behind this past season.

Unfortunately viewers may be forced to wait an excruciatingly long two years before Tomund’s firey gaze ignites their screens once more.

LISTEN TO OUR GAME OF THRONES PODCAST, WINTER IS HERE:

To keep you going until then, Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne, dropped a little nugget on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

She told the host that those creepy looks that we have all come to know and love don’t just stop when the cameras are turned off.

I turns out that Kristofer Hivju, who plays Tormund, likes to keep up the passionate gazing even when they are not filming.

“He likes to continue being in character even offset,” Christie told Meyers.

“So we will be in a dark tent with a gas heater burning away and he will start chewing a sandwich wildly at me. Really kind of making love to that sandwich as he eyeballs me. So it’s strong. Eyes like lasers pouring right in.”

That now iconic look is something we can credit to Hivju, who added his own artistic flare to the scene. In the script, the stage direction was underwhelmingly described as “Tormund gives Brienne a look”.

Christie was not prepared for the intensity of the famous “look” and at times she found it difficult to hold her composure.

“I am a classically trained actress, however this is possibly the one time that I dissolved without fail because no one told me that this was going to happen,” Christie said.

“I was not expecting the power, the magnitude of intense sexual intention to pour out of a man’s eyes and cover me.”

Fans of the show can rest easy knowing that even though they will have to wait until season eight to see how the Brienne-Tormund relationship progresses, Hivju is doing his best to keep the love alive with his co-star.
