Time period makes sense from the height of the VIking Age to its end (the death of Hadragga at Stamford Bridge) Gudshit.
did you conflate the anglo/saxon/jutic migrations into Britain in the middle dark-ages with the Norwegian and Danish invasions under the Sons of Lodbrok etc.? 😛
Not sure how this works, but can't you buy rights or something and make a Game of Thrones game ?
Big factions(or houses) being Starks, Lannisters, Targaerians and Baratheons.
It would be pretty awesome if you think about it.
10 bucks says they drop the ball and ruin our beloved historic Total War series. Will we have to pay extra for weapons DLC? Main game every one just fights with their fists. The Vikings will probably be DLC too.. LMAO
heh Ragnar falling
Oh,DLC content sold as stand alone.
Ugh, cant we get something in asia for once like The Indian Subcontinent, or Something that has to do with Sun Tzu and China.
Glorious? I don't know. It looks like cheap indie unity style.
I hope for new Settlement types … main reason for attila getting boring are the repetitive sttlement battles
Is that king Aella's voice????
This game look good asf but your history wasn't very great in this video. But good job tho
game engine cut scene are way better.
Even after so many Total wars.. Atilla remains my favorite.
I definitely agree with what you said at the end, this time period is getting a taaaad bit overdone by now.
oh fuck not squalor again that was the worse!
Understandable as your not British, but your history of the period is pretty threadbare. Wales certainly wont be one faction as Wales was first unified in 1081 when William 1st invaded wales and unified all of the welsh kingdoms with Normandy and England.
I thought the trailer looked decent until I saw the big two hander sword, and the sword with long crossguard. 😲 😒
Last Kingdom ist a great book series but NOT a great series imho.
it would be cool if they did an asia historical game , mongol invasions , 4 Waring kingdoms in china , japan , Korea , indo china and their great kingdoms and Persia with Turkic tribes. Plus all very different play style just looking from the historical point of view
Im thinking this game would be good as Shogun 2. Unlike other shitty total war franchise.
Why the anachronistic weapons in the trailer?
Doesn't the use of Saga imply that there would be more content about Viking/Scandinavian history?
CA sort of killed my enthusiasm for Total War after Rome 2, so I'm a little hesitant for this.
The thing about variation in gameplay based on faction is that, on a tactical level, pretty much everyone fought the exact same way in 9th century Britain; that is, 90% of every army was made up of infantry and foot skirmishers with some richer guys on horses making up the remaining 10%. CA can make the units look really shiny and unique, and by all means they should, but there isn't much they can do to extend that to the gameplay without drifting pretty far into the realm of bad history.
Not sure I've ever disliked something as fast.
Total War: War of the Wintermarkers
I have recently been playing a lot of Viking Conquest for M&B and I don't know if this time period will either excite me from my time playing VC or if it will feel dull since it's not like it is a new time period I haven't dabbled in for video games.
I hope they rework the unit movement and fighting system/engine, its so unrealistic. And I also would like to see a Uthred of Bebbamburg reference in the game, as Crusader Kings 2 did
Cool, although I was kind of hoping to see a game set in Imperial China.
oh no Attila's engine, bye bye 60 fps
Why did they call it Thrones of Britannia if it has Ireland and Britain? That name sucks.
I feel they wanted to give it A Game of Thrones vibe
Seeing this trailer makes me also really want to watch more of The Last Kingdom…
They need to stay with the fantasy type games. Much better than this crap
