JG Travel Group has added a range of Game of Thrones-themed breaks to its Northern Ireland portfolio, which will be available through its Just Go! Holidays and National Holidays brands.
Trips include a visit to the new Game of Thrones Studio Tour in Northern Ireland, plus a guided coach tour of key filming locations on the Antrim Coast.
The operator’s Just Go! Holidays brand will offer four-day breaks by air from £499pp, while National Holidays will offer four-day options by coach from £399pp.
The new studio tour, located at Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge, is set to open on Friday (4 February). It will offer fans of the hit show the chance to discover how the fantasy novel series was transformed for the screen, with first-hand views of weapons and props – plus encounters with interactive elements to relive some of the most memorable scenes.
A guided coach tour will include a drive past the quarry that provided the backdrop for “Castle Black” and “The Wall”, a stop at the seaside town of Carnlough (or the free city of Braavos to fans of the show), and the chance to take a photo of the harbour steps where Arya Stark was attacked by The Waif.
Matt Herbert, sales and yield director at JG Travel Group, said the series and its filming locations have been “a key driver” in generating demand to visit Northern Ireland.
“I have absolutely no doubt that the opening of this new attraction will give many customers even more reason to make the trip, be it for the first time or a returning visit,” he said.
“Agents should also keep an eye out on our social channels over the next few weeks. We are currently working on our trade marketing plans in conjunction with Tourism Ireland and hope to have something exciting to share soon.”
