With Day 2 of the D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center underway, attendees received enough announcements to fill a bag’s worth of show floor merch.
Following announcements about Lizzie McGuire, Disney+’s “The Mandalorian” and the upcoming “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” Saturday morning’s panel included an appearance of “Black Panther 2” director Ryan Coogler, where he announced the release date of the movie. The two-year wait shocked fans and took to Twitter to express their excitement with a hint of impatience.

I really have to wait basically 3 years for the next Black Panther, I’m sick

Jesus. A 4 year wait for Black Panther 2. Chadwick was late 30s when he was cast as Black Panther. By the time BP2 comes out he’s gonna be on the later end of his 40s. Jeez. At this rate he’s gonna be 50 by the time BP3 comes out. #D23Expo

After speculation of Kit Harrington’s future post “Game of Thrones,” D23 revealed the actor’s new project, his role as Dane Whitman, also known as Dark Knight in Marvel’s ‘Eternals’. He joins Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Gemma Chan and fellow “Game of Thrones” alum Richard Madden in the film directed by Chloe Zhao. Jolie and a few of the cast appeared at the panel stage.

And last, but definitely not least, the panel revealed that Emma Stone will play a live-action of Cruella De Vil, the antagonist of Disney’s “101 Dalmatians”. The movie is set to take place in the punk rock era of the ’70s. Stone’s rocker version of the black and white-haired villain had mixed reactions on social media.
Here’s your first look at Emma Stone as Cruella de Vil in Disney’s Cruella. The film, also starring Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser, and Joel Fry, comes to theaters May 28, 2021. #D23Expo pic.twitter.com/rPcGHCtqfW
