Yes! I've been saying this for years: Together, Gendry and Sam (with verification from Bran?) will figure out that the Secret Sauce in VS is obsidian [dragon glass]—volcano lava cooled and hardened. It will require super-hot dragon fire to melt it again to alloy it with ordinary steel. Voila!

Even so, I think that VS cannot kill the NK cuz he was created with dragon glass in the first place. This job can be done only with Lightbringer [per AA/Nissa Nissa legend] or Dawn (forged from a meteor), which must be wielded by a worthy relative of House Dayne.

use dragon to breathe onto the iron throne and free up the swords there. when the old dragon blew on them to join them together, he made them valyrian steel – they are still sharp after 300 years and haven't rusted.

I think Davos, went after Gendry to forge new swords for the Great War. Maybe unkown to Davos, Gendry's sklls no doubt would include, forging VaLyrian steel. Seems like the ' known exisiting 'Valyrian swords are on the way to Winterfell. I think even Meera Reed, has one she grabed from the 3 eyed Raven's cave beyond the wall. The fact that Gendry is Robert's bastard son becomes common knowledge might also shake things up in King's Landing.
