I would be shocked if they weren't in it together. But if not, I would be more shocked if it was never brought up by Varys that the 'little birds' changed sides
Would Varys and Qyburn kill so many in Kingslanding including the queen her brother and father?
I immediately thought that when I saw both Qyburn and Varys control gangs of kids in town.
Surely if they were controlling competing factions of kids, there would be some kid war?
Easier to realize the people in power aren't connecting the dots.
Another thing to consider – Qyburn's debut. He first appears in Harrenhall, left for dead after the Lannisters kill all the northerners they took prisoner. "You're lucky to be alive." "….lucky?" https://youtu.be/_iyX8Ip2Xo4?t=158
your case seems pretty convincing
I agree
Order 66 ?
I hope you're right. That would make taking Cersei out a lot easier.
I'm a newcomer to the Game of Thrones canon so when I saw how suddenly Qyburne made the Mountain Cersei's "protector". It appeared as if he had given away his 'power'…a man giving up his power? No way. Gonna miss you Quenny. (Sorta).
Jon…..has…..no….CLAIM!!!! Bastards do not have claims to anything. FFS
but Qyburn gave Cersei the ''ballista''
maybe that's why Danny's losing 🤔☹
You are hanging this theory on the idea that a bunch of poor kids would remain loyal to Varys? I doubt it.
I think its funny that you name "facts" you have none, he has a little sway with the birds sure, but the world is also round.. whats your point?
Qyburn. Keeper of the secret flame of hype. He who raises the bowl from the dead. All hail to Hypeburn.
Well… I always assumed both of them had there own "little birds". Makes more sense to me.
The Mountan is more loyal to Qyburn thats true but the rest ? That might be some new little Birds
Qyburn and Varys NO just NO
great theory, really interesting
the little birds never change sides, they act like it but never do in the books
I think you assume that he trusts them because they are loyal rather than he trusts them because they are not capable of duplicity. They are children and as such are basically politically innocent. They would not change loyalties and betray Varis rather they would be loyal to Qyburn because he is there and Varis is not. They would not know or care if Qyburn was working against Varis. You guys think to much and need to put yourselves into the minds of children who do very little thinking.
The Mountain could even be the Valenqar
Why does everyone keep talking about Jon's claim to the throne? He has no claim! Even if R+L=J, he is still a bastard. Each most distant (non-bastard) relative of the Mad King that can be tracked down, including all females, has a better claim than Jon. I wouldn't even be sure whether an unlegitimised bastard has a claim even if there are absolutely no other relatives alive.
Of course, that doesn't keep people from taking the throne without asking… Or he might be put on the throne by the people after saving them from the Others (if that is what's going to happen…), but then it probably won't mean that much anymore anyway…
I like Daenerys but Targaryen Dynasty incest tradition disgusts me
If EVERYONE in ASOIAF is working with EVERYONE ELSE in ASOIAF, who the hell are they all working against?!
Good point
You spoiled the story damn it!
Aegon is not in the show because he's not important In th bigger plot.
In books Aegon will be son of Rhaegar and Lyanna not dead son of Rhaegar and Elia. R + L = J is a red herring in books but true on show. George is not going to ruin his big book reveal on the show like that. They are going down two different paths so as not to ruin his books.
Aegon being a Blackfire is a red herring only Varys is the Blackfire. Or not. We'll see. Hurry up George.
it could be the show writers showing us Varys' fallibility
hes usually so well composed, but the scene with Kinvara, the High Red Priestess of R'hollor, absolutely shook him to his core
the birds switching sides could be another thing to demonstate this, after all, they are just kids, their first priority would be a hot meal and a hug, which Qyburn can provide
how does the game of throne line of succession work?
and is Cersei on the Throne legally or not?
Love this video Qyburn is on of my favorite characters I knew there was something sketch about him.. This makes a lot of sense!
Ya know… I never really stopped to consider the way we met Qyburn in the first place. The apparent lone survivor in Harrenhal – not only alive, but un-maimed as far as we can tell – just so happens to go on and rise to the position of Hand of the Queen. What a lucky fellow! What are the odds that when the Lannister army abandoned Harrenhal and killed everyone on their way out, that their ONE oversight would happen to be someone so uber-consequential?
I don't know. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between the standard coincidences of narrative convenience (ie. Tyrion and Jorah happen to be in the same brothel at the same time), and coincidences intended to seem far-fetched and make the audience subtly suspicious.
Of course… apart from that coincidence there are plenty of other indicators that this man has far more agenda than he's willing to admit. Number 1 being common sense. He's the only reason Cersei isn't rotting in a cell while the High Sparrow pulls the strings of his puppet king and queen. And all he wants in return is… a place to do his work? His work, so far, being focused on helping her gain power? "Oh, you can pay me by letting me serve you more!" Seriously?
That one moment where you see Jon as an infant and it goes to his face, OMG, I just get chills every time I see it.
I was wondering about that.. Why would they go to qyburn so easily.?
