After the success of House of the Dragon, HBO and Warner Bros have been investing heavily in Game of Thrones spinoffs. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, based on George R.R. Martin‘s Dunk & Egg novels, is going to be the next. However, it seems like there is more in store for the fans, as the media giant is reportedly working on a movie based on Martin’s works.
A Game of Thrones movie is in early development stage
Warner Bros. is reportedly in the initial stages of developing a film within George R.R. Martin’s expansive fantasy realm, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The project is described as being in the nascent phase of development, lacking a filmmaker, cast, or writer at this point. However, the studio is interested in the concept of bringing the world of Westeros to the silver screen.
Game of Thrones movie might demand the biggest budget in history
Just like The Lord of The Rings, Game of Thrones is a massive franchise with an even bigger lore. Game of Thrones series and its spinoffs so far like House of the Dragon have fetched enormous budgets (with the exception of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms). If the speculations are correct, this Game of Thrones movie might become the most expensive fantasy project Warner Bros has ever invested in. But can the budget match fans’ expectations? Only time can tell.
