A TV star has thanked a community group for going above and beyond to help the most vulnerable.

Games of Thrones star Jerome Flynn, who plays Bronn in the hit TV show, has recorded a message to the volunteers of the Nanny Biscuit coronavirus support group.

In the message he pays tribute to the hard work from all volunteers who ensure the elderly and vulnerable are not left behind.

In the video he says: “Hi this is Jerome with a message for all of you who are volunteering for CAFgas and Nanny Biscuit.

“I’ve been hearing amazing things about what you’re all up to and I wanted to thank you and encourage you and say it really makes a difference.

“Just to hear of projects like yours and to hear of the spirit and heart and the amount of lives that you are making a difference to, in these days and in the days going forward, for sure it’s the way we have to go.

“What you’re doing over there with Nanny Biscuit its a wonderful model and inspiration to us all.”

James Hunt, founder of the Nanny Biscuit group, said: “We are very humbled to receive a beautiful and poignant message from Jerome and so pleased for the volunteers, all of their continued hard work is being seen and appreciated.”

The Leader has previously reported how the group of volunteers have come together to ensure food parcels are delivered and buddy phone calls are made to reduce the level of isolation.
