Any Sound of Music fans out there? How about musical theater nerds in general? Whatever. Just watch this hilarious take on “My Favorite Things” sung by Brittany Rose Dawson:
I love this unconditionally. The lyrics:
Aerys Targaryen, who went a bit loco
Stannis Baratheon, bewitched by his Yoko
Old Tywin Lannister never has flings
These are a few of my favorite kings
Ned Stark is handsome despite his wedding
Walder Frey hosted the brutal Red Wedding
Viserys is wearing the ultimate bling
These are a few of our Game of Thrones kings
When the dog bites
When the boar strikes
When they eat your face
Let’s simply remember there’s dozens of kings
And plenty to take their place
Thank you, Brittany Rose Dawson. Thank you, Joel-Steven. Thank you, Joe Hogue and Bobby G. Merry Christmas and goodnight.
As long as we’re talking about Game of Thrones songs, enjoy this blast from a past: a trap remix featuring Arya Stark’s second most abiding catchphrase from her days in Braavos:
Get on down to it.
Finally, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (the Mountain) and his new wife Kelsey decided to recreate Gregor Clegane’s most infamous Game of Thrones moment…with the roles reversed:
That’ll learn him.
All of this is fun, but frankly I keep coming back to “My Favorite Kings.” I know that unofficial Game of Thrones musicals exist, but I want to live to see the day when a splashy official show lands on Broadway. Time to write about it in my dream journal.
