The Flash and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 aired new trailers at the Super Bowl. Let’s watch them!
The Super Bowl took place over the weekend, and we all know what that means: trailers, trailers, and more trailers! One of the biggest sporting events of the year has long had a reputation for huge new previews for upcoming movies and shows, and it was no different this time around.
While movies like Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves premiered short TV spots, Marvel and DC Studios broke out the big guns with full trailers for their next big films.
Watch the first-ever trailer for The Flash movie
DC Studios’ The Flash has had a long road to theaters, particularly after Ezra Miller went on a state-hopping crime spree. but after numerous delays, The Flash is finally coming out this summer.
And its first real trailer looks…pretty dang good! The Flash is a multiverse story involving multiple versions of Miller’s Barry Allen/The Flash, multiple Batmen played by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, the return of Zod (Michael Shannon) from 2013’s Man of Steel, and even the introduction of Kara Kent, aka Supergirl, played by Sasha Calle.
While DC has had a mixed run with movies leading into the new James Gunn/Peter Safran-led era of the DCU, there’s quite a lot to get excited about in the new trailer for The Flash. It’s just too bad that its lead star isn’t one of them.
The Flash speeds into theaters on June 16.
Watch the new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Next up we head over to Marvel Studios for James Gunn’s final outing with the Guardians of the Galaxy. This one has all the classic music, jokes, and stylish flair that we’ve come to expect from a Guardians movie, while hinting at a darker and heavier story. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to be the final movie featuring this iteration of the misfit superhero team. We’re not expecting them all to live through it.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and Sean Gunn, with Will Poulter joining the cast as Adam Warlock and Chukwudi Iwuji as the villainous High Evolutionary. It hits theaters on May 5.
