The Walking Dead has been airing on AMC since 2010, for over 11 years. Now, finally, incredibly, the series is starting to wrap up. The current season 11 is its last, although we still have two more blocks of episodes to go before we reach a definitive ending.

The first block of episodes wrapped in 2021 and introduced us to the Commonwealth, the most advanced civilization any of our merry band of zombie apocalypse survivors has yet encountered. But the next block will really give us a close-up look as Carol, Daryl, Negan and the rest get invited inside.

Take a look at the new trailer below:

The Commonwealth looms large in the new trailer for The Walking Dead

For some reason my favorite thing about this trailer is the quick shot of Carol carrying a tray of cookies. I don’t know why.

This next cache of episodes will bring to the forefront Pamela Milton, the governor of the Commonwealth, which has modern conveniences our team had thought lost to time. Although the Commonwealth looks like a miracle, it probably won’t surprise you to learn that it has a dark underbelly, as this trailer makes clear.

New episodes of The Walking Dead start airing on February 20. And if this show isn’t your thing, there’s plenty more coming in 2022 to entertain you:
