Although HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones met its controversial end in 2019, the cast continues to provide insight into its gripping scenes. This includes Greyworm star Jacob Anderson who reflected on the moment his Valyrion improv was axed from the show.
After Game of Thrones landed on screens in 2011 it became a worldwide phenomenon and gained acclaim from critics and viewers alike for its compelling storyline.
The show was the onscreen adaptation of George R R Martin’s fantasy novel series who eventually became a multi-award-winning franchise.
It told the story of nine families who went to war to gain control over the land of Westeros, while a far more evil force threatened the whole of mankind.
Game of Thrones also followed Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke) who alongside her brother Viserys (Harry Lloyd) was one of the last surviving members of their family.

As Daenerys set on the battle to reclaim her birthright, the Iron Throne, viewers were introduced to one of her trusted advisors, Greyworm (Jacob Anderson), during season three.
He was loyal to her after she acquired the Unsullied which freed him from slavery.
The actor made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show alongside musician Sam Smith, where he reflected on Game of Thrones.
During the interview, Jacob opened up about his Valyrion improv scene which didn’t make the final cut.
He reflected: “I did many, many scenes in Valyrion,” but after Kelly probed: “I mean impromptu,” Jacob admitted: “I know which one you mean.”
As they laughed, he explained: “I’ve never had to improvise in made-up language, who among us.
“So there was one night, it was like a very stressful scene, everyone getting ready for a battle.
“It’s like pitch black, snow and the director just shouts over, he was like, ‘Jacob just improvise something, just say something that makes you angry but say it in Valyrion,’”

Jacob continued: “I panicked and I just started going ‘Mike Pence, Mike Pence, Mike Pence’ and I shouted Mike Pence just over and over and over again.”
As the audience roared with laughter, Kelly who was in disbelief asked: “And it wasn’t even political, you were just yelling it?”
To which he admitted: “Maybe a little political,” Kelly added: “I mean, what a random thing to say.”
As he laughed, the actor confessed: “I didn’t know what to do.”
