Elden Ring was revealed during last yearās E3, and it sparked a lot of attention for a good reason. The game is being developed by FromSoftware, the minds behind Dark Souls, Sekiro, etc. Itās being written by FromSoftware CEO Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin. Yes, thatās right, the author will write this fantasy RPG for Game Of Thrones!
But even after all the hype, the game has been pretty silent, with no official news until now. It has all just been rumors and a few leaks. At the 23rd Japan Media Arts Festival, in a panel focused on Sekiro, hosts Tokita Takahashi and Sayawaka read some Hidetaka Miyazaki statements about the game, which has been translated on Reddit by user cocoakoumori.
Basically, I decide the thematic elements of the game first to develop the motifs and world view of the title. Now weāre in development for a game called āElden Ringā which is larger and deeper than anything weāve done before (..) history, or mythos, we feel weāre challenging ourselves to make a game that deals with these two opposing [elements].
Miyazaki also revealed that the Game Of Thrones HBO Series staff has helped in the gameās development, especially in the open-world aspect of Elden Ring.
āEldenĀ has staff from the foreign drama āGame of Thronesā participating in development and the game has got a sort of āopen-worlded-nessā to it with wide open areas where you can ride your horse and things, it seems there are scenes like that in the game so, well,ā¦ Thereās a feeling of a world here.
