The Writers Guild of America strike has ended owing to a resolution that would help all writers in the industry, regardless of the network they work for. The strike had put everything in Hollywood on hold, including highly anticipated shows and films. A few months ago, SAG-AFTRA joined the cause and is now moving in the same direction. The industry has apparently suffered severe damage as a result of these strikes.

Almost 45k people lost their jobs during the strikes
Though the WGA strike ended after 148 days, the SAG-AFTRA strike is still going on. The past couple of months have been very difficult for the people working in the film and TV industry, and a lot of people lost their source of livelihood. According to a report by The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics via The Hollywood Reporter, employment in the sector “has declined by 45,000 since May, reflecting the impact of labor disputes.”
The quality of shows like House of the Dragon won’t go down
Despite the major streaming sites losing out on a lot of work due to the strikes, HBO chief Casey Bloys reassured the fans in an earlier press release, “A good show is a good show. We’ve been through strikes before. It doesn’t affect the kinds of shows we make.”
