Daenerys has been spiralling out (Picture: HBO)

The most recent episode of Game of Thrones saw Daenerys taking out her anger on King’s Landing.

After being defeated in battle and losing two of her dragons and Ser Jorah and Missandei (as well as being rejected by Jon Snow) she allowed the Dothraki to massacre the city’s innocent civilians.

With her father being known as the ‘Mad King’ – and the Targaryens having a predisposition for going crazy with power – it’s thought that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when it comes to the Khaleesi.

There’s also another fan theory going around, and it’s all to do with eye colour.

Earlier on in the show, there was a scene featuring Arya Stark and Melisandre where the Red Priestess foresaw that she would kill three people with green, brown, and blue eyes, respectively.

She said to the young warrior, ‘I see a darkness in you, and in that darkness, eyes staring back at me: brown eyes, blue eyes, green eyes. Eyes you’ll shut forever. We will meet again.’

Given that Arya has already made the prophecy come true in the first two instances (with brown eyed Walder Frey and the blue eyed Night King), there are rumours that Dany may be the green-eyed one she’s going to take down.

Cersei Lannister’s green eyes have been mentioned throughout the series’, but she has since died, leaving her out of the running.

Actress Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys, has green eyes, and does not wear contacts during filming. This is certainly significant, although it could also be inconsequential.

In the George R.R. Martin novels, Dany is specifically supposed to have violet-coloured eyes, and Emilia wore purple contacts in the pilot episode.

So, although she abandoned these for the main part of filming, it may not have been as conscious a decision as we think.

That said, Arya has certainly noticed the devestation Daenerys has caused, and was seen purposefully riding away on a white horse in the last episode. Could this be her riding off to get revenge for the people of King’s Landing?
