Game of Thrones season 7 is over. The wait for Game of Thrones season 8, the final year of the show, has begun. This week on WiC Live, we recap what we know about the final season, and discuss how we want this whole big beautiful thing to end. Watch it above?
First, what we know. Topics include:
- Exactly how long do we have to wait to see Game of Thrones season 8? We try and narrow it down.
- If word from up top can be believed, HBO is going to be shooting season 8 for 11 months. That is a hell of a long time. What does that mean for episode lengths, and does having to wait that long distract from the hype? Also, I posit a conspiracy theory involving salaries.
- What do we know about Game of Thrones season 8? Not much, but we do know that a few key members of the production aren’t returning.
- Preproduction for season 8 has begun. We’ve got some info about locations, props, and a couple of casting calls for new characters!
- We briefly address the alleged leaked outline for season 8. Are they the real thing?
Moving on, we discuss our hopes and dreams for season 8. Points we hit:
- There’s no way Dany isn’t getting pregnant with Jon’s child.
- Who do we want to survive the whole series, and which characters are ripe for the chopping block? Because you know not every main character is getting out of this alive.
- Kayla seems pretty sure we’re going to get a decent-sized time jump next year. Maybe?
- If only one Stark sister can survive the whole series, which one would we want it to be?
- Who, if anybody, do we want to wind up together by the end of the show?
- We’re both pretty sure that Cersei will die, but we’re less sure who will do the deed.
We’ll be taking next week off, so there won’t be an episode on Wednesday, September 20. But we’ll be back the following Wednesday, September 27 at 4:00 p.m. CST with more discussion, giveaways, and the start of an exciting new journey!
