Warning: spoilers for episodes 1 and 2 of season 8 ahead

Just as we’re getting over the events of Winterfell, the lovely people over at Game Of Thrones have gifted us with a teaser trailer for the next installment of season eight. And we absolutely love them for it.

Though the title of the second episode still hasn’t been revealed, it looks like we might get some answers to the questions the premiere left us with as well as a couple of new storylines.

Here’s everything the trailer suggests might happen, but remember – they might be leading us astray…

Jaime faces the wrath of Daenerys

The dramatic ending of episode 1 led us to believe that Bran was going to seek revenge on Jaime for paralysing him all the way back in the first season. Instead, it looks like the king slayer might have to pay for a different crime first, as he is put before Daenerys to answer for the murder of her father, otherwise known as the Mad King.

‘When I was a child, my brother would tell me a bedtime story about the man who murdered our father,’ says a menacing Dany, ‘about all the things we would do to that man.’ Sansa, Tyrion and Bran look on as the Mother of Dragons decides Jaime’s fate – each of whom presumably have their own ideas about what should happen to him.

Jaime does have a bargaining chip that may well save his life, however, if he decides it’s worth it to dob in his sister and her plans to betray the North.

We would if we were you, mate.

Sansa and Dany still aren’t getting on

The Lady of Winterfell gave Daenerys a welcome colder than a kiss from the Night King when she arrived at Winterfell, and it looks like their relationship doesn’t get any friendlier.

‘You never should have trusted Cersei,’ Daenerys can be seen telling Sansa, to which she sassily replies, ‘you never should have either.’

Time to decide whether you’re Team Sansa or Team Daenerys in GOT’s very own version of Mean Girls, which will be fun until the Night King murders everyone.

Jon and Dany go down to the Winterfell crypt

At least that’s what it looks like. Jon found out his true identity as the son of Rhaegar Targaryen last episode, which hopefully means they haven’t met in the creepy setting for some equally creepy incestual snogging.

This could be the moment where Jon reveals to Dany that she is his aunt, which would change the whole game for the Targaryen queen. A number of fan theories suggest she will follow in the footsteps of her father and go mad – this could be the news that pushes her over the edge.

Arya and Ser Jorah get their hands on important weapons

As well as his books, Sam Tarly brought back the legendary sword Heartsbane with him from The Citadel. Made of Valyrian steel, the weapon has been in the Tarly family for the last 500 years but the teaser shows us Ser Jorah wielding it.

Whether he has stolen it or been given it, we don’t know how Jorah comes into possession of the sword.

But if we look back to the main season eight trailer he can be seen with it during what we presume is the battle against the White Walkers.

Meanwhile, it looks like Arya gets the weapon she asked Gendry to make for her. It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment, but the youngest Stark girl can be seen shooting an arrow in the teaser, and we know her new weapon can be used in a number of ways.

It’s also made of Dragonglass – a material we already know has the ability to kill White Walkers, thanks to Sam Tarly. As the trailer plays out, we hear Arya going on about how much she’s looking forward to seeing death so it’s possible she’s planning something big for the incoming army.

The White Walkers arrive at Winterfell

The Night King actor let slip that we’ll be seeing a major battle – which took a whopping 55 nights to shoot – in the third episode and by the look of Jon’s face, the White Walker army come knocking at the end of the second.

‘How long do we have?’ Jon can be seen asking Tormund (who obviously makes it out of The Last Hearth safely, woo!). ‘Before the sun comes up tomorrow,’ he replies, seemingly confirming that the battle takes place during the night.

We also see Tyrion staring out over the wall of Winterfell in the dark – chances are he’s watching the army of wights coming his way.

Greyworm or Missandei (or both) will probably die

Come on. No one in the history of Game Of Thrones has ever shared an intensely passionate but rushed kiss like Greyworm and Missendei in this teaser and lived to tell anyone about it.

Game Of Thrones continues on HBO and Sky Atlantic next Sunday. Seasons one to seven are available to stream on NOW TV.
