Game of Thrones has become known for its big budget action sequences and huge CGI dragons.
With two big battles so far this season, it was always going to be an expensive season to make.
The third episode saw the long awaited Battle of Winterfell, which saw the Night King and his White Walker army come face-to-face with many of our favourite characters.
It included over an hour of non-stop action and many fans have been wondering just how much it all cost to put together.
What is the budget for Game of Thrones season eight?
It is believed that the team behind the fantasy series were given around $15 million to spend on each of the six episodes in the eighth season.
That means a total of around $90 million was spent, making it the most expensive TV show in history.
It is the biggest amount that HBO has spent per episode in any of the eight seasons of Game of Thrones, although the shorter length of the final series means that it was technically beaten by season six, which reportedly cost $100 million in total across ten episodes.
The budget has been needed so far in season eight, especially with two huge battles taking place in episodes three and five, with dragons, direwolves and the White Walker army all requiring complex CGI and special effects.
Even then it wasnât enough to allow Jon Snow to give his pet Direwolf Ghost a hug, before leaving him to ride south during episode four.
The first season of Game of Thrones had a much smaller budget in comparison, with around $6 million per episode, but this was before many of the big battle scenes took place.
One battle was even cut out, with Tyrion Lannister being knocked out just as it was beginning, to avoid having to find more money so that they could film the battle sequence that happened after Robert Barratheonâs death.
