1984 had a great mix of different genres like The Killing Fields, Amadeus, Karate Kid, Footloose, The Terminator, Revenge Of The Nerds, Gremlins, Sixteen Candles, Nightmare On Elm Street, Police Academy, The Last Starfighter and The Never Ending Story.

2014 could be up there with best year but idk some might call me crazy
