It seems like there will be more Game of Thrones titles coming to the small screen, and many subscribers have reignited their curiosity regarding whether or not the fantasy drama series will be available on Netflix anytime soon.
Ever since the final episode of Game of Thrones aired, many people had thought that the international phenomenon that bad bot sprinted and strumbled its way to the finish line had come to an end. But it seems HBO is going big on the George R.R. Martin, signing him to a massive five-year overall deal, and his popular property greenlighting several spinoffs, including the passed on Bloodmoon, the upcoming House of the Dragon series, 10,000 Ships, 9 Voyages, and a project based on Flea Market, the poorest slum in King’s Landing.
The entire endeavor told the enthralling story of nine noble houses fighting for control over the kingdom of Westeros and the right to sit on the Iron Throne. Along the way, fans were introduced to all kinds of betrayals, battles, dragons, dark magic, and undead warriors, making it a must-watch affair until it crashed and burned during the final run.
Despite its god-awful ending, Game of Thrones won a slew of honors and accolades in its time, including 59 Primetime Emmy Awards, the most by any drama series. Given everything the show has going for it, it is no wonder why many want to know if GOT is coming to Netflix.
When will Game of Thrones be available on Netflix?
The news as to whether the critically acclaimed series will be available on the streaming service is going to feel like a dragon just burned down one’s kingdom. Game of Thrones will most assuredly not be coming to Netflix.
HBO Max seems to be going big on GOT for the foreseeable future, and it seems wise to presume they wouldn’t want one of their biggest competitor playing one of their big favorites. But subscribers shouldn’t worry as there are several alternative options on Netflix to choose from, like The Witcher, The Last Kingdom, Cursed and more.
Fans should also remember that the show’s creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, do have a deal with Netflix. So hopefully, they will do a much better job this time around.
