Kev, I wonder if people would be more upset if Jon did not ride a dragon (at some point for whatever reason they think), or would they rage more if he did not survive till the end. We seem to be used to the death after our hearts were ripped apart during Ned's beheading, later for our healing flesh to be calterized during the red wedding.
Now, our hearts will bleed less but will never be mended 😳
I agree Jon will more likely die at the end of the War. And for cinematic reasons and how DD have been directing the show. I think the cgi will look horrible if they film a shot of a battle on a dragon, but this could happen in the dance of dragons almost everyone wants to see in real time. This leads to the obscurity of rahgar being the night King since the desturbing reports that the nightwalkers started there march was after that battle took place. Throwing hailmarys here
Tyrion son of Rhaegar Targaryan, please make it happen
He's already bonded with Ghost so i'd hope they wouldn't throw that out that window :/
great graphics and video! keep up the great work!
I can't see Jon just walking up to Rhaegal and bonding with him. There's 6 episodes left and I don't think riding Jon riding a dragon makes sense from Daenerys' perspective. For that reason, there's only 2 types of ways I see Jon riding a dragon:
1) In the heat of battle, Jon is about to die and jumps on Rhaegal and from this point, they "bond". Or Daenerys is in trouble off of Drogon, and Jon, nearby, is taken by Rhaegal to her as Rhaegal can't protect her without getting hurt (skittish from fear of ice spear from Viserion incident) or would hurt her with fire. I could see also see the scenario where Rhaegal is skittish so Bran takes control and that's how Jon rides Rhaegal.
2) Daenerys dies, and there is only one dragon left. With a depleted army and no one to command the dragon, Jon learns of his background from Bran/Samwell, and in honor of Daenerys, and in doing what needs to be done, he bonds with the dragon.
Bonus/Favorite Situation–Daenerys is killed by Cersei, and Jon ends up becoming the "Night King" and controlling the wights. Jon, in finishing what Daenerys started, marches on Kings Landing with the army of the dead, riding on an undead dragon and destroys the Iron Throne.
rhegal riding with jon is totally happening aaaaaaand viserion is technically dead…i think that the correlation with the names will mean more than we actually think right now
the 3 heads of the dragon as they appear to be right now make it seem as though they are dany, jon and the night king….perhaps the bond between viserion and the night king is only bc the night king brought hom back to life and perhaps the bond between them is bc the night king is actually harboring some targ blood…either way…i see drogon being the one to kill his brother bc thats how their characters they were named after played out
What if Jon gets onto the Wight Dragon somehow and revives him, the dragons fire would turn from Ice to Fire. The sound would be a song of Ice and Fire
Good point of wanting to see Jon fight on the ground. Will Jon ride a dragon? Maybe. It all depends on what will D&D find to be cool. Because that's what they're about now, making GOT look "cool" and not logical. Personally I'd rather see that CGI spent on Jon fighting alongside Ghost one last time. Dragons and fire, burning people and wights we've seen. Ghost chewing on some wights bones… that's what I want to see next. Maybe even a surprise Nymeria and her wolf pack coming to aid the living. Jon fighting with Ghost or even with the whole wolf pack would be just awesome.
The winged wolf….. nuff said
This turned out great! Kinda weird to see myself mentioned in the credits 😂 Something that just occurred to me is the fact that Jon has been dead & resurrected. I believe it was insinuated by GRRM himself that people brought back by R'llor were fire wights. Hmmm. What if this gives Jon some power over Viserion?
Video for Oathbringer please! I need more people to discuss this book with me 😢
Jon will probably ride Rhaegal. It is what is expected, I think. I still say Jon is a swordsman. He is pretty bad ass swordsman. He has killed the most white walkers, I think? Pregnant or not I would like to see Drogon and Danaerys do what she said she wanted to do, defeat the NK. Maybe she won't find out she is pregnant till after the Great war. That way nobody treats her like a piece of glass. 😂
#FreeGhost
I think its going to be after the news bomb of, "hey, err you are a targaryen". he'll prob mope, classic jon, then go into the cripts of winterfell then prob out to the wailing red tree(cant remember the name of them). and Boom there is rhaegal. He wont ride him but probably do something similar that he did with drogon, can imagine ghost being there too, symbolic ice and fire. Dany and the night king will KO each other and so will drogon and viseryon. Leaving Jon, too restore balance by killing cersi? i dont think he will survive that last battle but hope is there.
Gosh this one is difficult on so many levels but if I were to try and guess then I'd say yes he will whether he's successful in his attempt is iffy like ya say there hasn't been that bonding experience but in GOT anything is possible 🐲🐲
LOVE IT! Love this channel, Man. Glad to be a Patron!
All the Starks are wargs, to varying degrees. If he is joined with Dany, he may be able to ride.
I always thought Jon snow wud ride rhaegal but I'm not so sure now plus Jon has already got a supernatural bond with "GHOST"#FREEGHOST
Daenarius saved the guys North of the wall on Drogon, so I can easily see Jon being able to ride him too♥
He rode a dragon in the last episode, duhhhh
I feel that it would be awesome if John Snow rides an ice dragon instead of Drogon or Rhaegal
Even tho Jon may be a swordsmen
It’s simple fact jon will do more damage against the army of the dead on dragonback
So if Jon can he will
I’ll be honest I’ll be very disappointed if he doesn’t
I mean what’s the point of R+l=j if Jon doesn’t ride a dragon
I think he’ll simply bond and ride Rhegal
Named after his father
I don't think they could do it in the show with how much time is left but I had this theory that Drogon would end up being meant for Jon instead of Dany.
We see Jon say I'm not a Stark and Drogon come flying past his head in an earlier scene, like Drogon was trying to tell him.
I wanted to see Dany get jealous and bitter at Jon for being the true heir to the throne, every thing she's fought for has been false really. She stood by and let Karl Drogo kill Vicerys and then instead of her being a good little khalaasi she tried to rise to power herself.
I wanted to see her go all mad queen and I think Drogon no longer letting Dany ride him would be the last straw.
Doesn't seem like it will happen but a fun theory.
It would be cool to see Jon ride a Dragon. It’d be even cooler if he rode the dragon while warging Ghost
Not gonna lie, I'd be pretty pissed if Jon rode Drogon. I really like the viserion theory, with Jon having to fight Dany, theres so many interesting possibilities there, as well as it would look awesome, be so emotional, would tie into some of the night king theorys out there, and finally return to the idea of not having pure good and evil. However I think Jon is going to end up riding Rhaegal and there'll be a bug battle at the end, he's the most obvious choice and I think it's the easiest ending for the show. Also it sucks that Ghost has been so non-existent and ignored for so long 🙁
Just wanted to say hi Kev!
Could see a Bonding scene with daenerys and ghost season 8 ?ghost knowing she pregnant plus ghost knows the future too
Well Jon has already rode Dany so there’s that 😛
**assuming Danny is pregnant
I am a subscriber….Please do a video on Varys purpose in season 8….he was totally useless in season 7….what could he possibly have to offer ?
He already rode the Dragon
One of the best of your latest videos, Kev! I love your new fonts, effects, the timing in the animations and scenes with everything you say…
I am actually now really hoping for Jon (and honestly Arya) to FINALLY bond with their direwolves in a more significant way, warg them or (who knows?..) even ride THEM. Instead of either a predictable extra Targaryan on another dragon (Jon or, God forbid the theory's true- Tyrion, on Rhaegal's back) or a cheesy/greek-tragedy things with Dany dying passing Drogon's bond or Jonaerys riding off to the sunset together… It just doesn't feel right. I much rather have both Ghost and Nymeria finally kick ass, be as vital to the story as they were in the books, and frankly get some freaking screen-time! I never liked the dragons so much. I think I even love Smaug more.
By the way, regarding the dragons I'm #TEAMBRAN all the way! I know the more probable event is using his warging abilities, but (as I believe I must've somewhere sometime mentioned in at least one of your videos before) I am seriously hoping for him to somehow PHYSICALLY "hop on" – so to speak – on a dragon and prove all the skeptics that he's the boss! It would be a triumph of mind over matter, soul over body. If Tyrion could build Bran a horse-riding device, why not have Jaime or Theon (in an effort to make amends and make up for what they've done to him) build him a dragon-riding special saddle? 🙂 Okay I know I'm quite off here and it probably wouldn't happen but it's nice to fantasize haha… Another possibility is Bran warging Drogon to allow Jon to ride him, but that would feel anticlimatic and plain wrong; any situation where Drogon isn't solely in Dany's hands feels just not right.
Ultimately, Jon riding Rhaegal is now almost as inevitable as the Jonaerys romance was, because so much fans would jerk off on it… BUT, as we saw with the Night King riding wight Viseryion, we never know. I hope Jon doesn't ride a dragon, and I hope Ghost and Nymeria are brought to their formal glory and be the glorious beasts they're meant to be.
I still think Jon is lightbringer and rhegar is azor ahai
Hey what if bran is injured and will die so he wargs into rhaegal to save himself, finally flying like the three eyed crow said he would and jon rides him into battle against the wights
I don’t want Jon to ride a dragon but if he does, it will probably be rhaegal. I don’t think Drogon will let another person ride him, he’s too much of a momma’s boy lol
Totally agree with not wanting Jon to ride a dragon , just doesn't feel right ! Would most definitely prefer to see more Ghost !
He mathdude @bridge4 what do you think of this theory..
Jon and dany find out she is pregnant so he wants to marry bit she will want to wait for somereason then when she gives birth she isnt strong enough to push the child out on her own and with no one around to help jon cuts her open to save the child making dany nissa nissa and finnally giving jon lightbringer in an acceptabel and exiting way.
I've said the dragons themselves were the three heads for more years than I can count. glad to see others feel the same way
Who else would like to see jon ride ghost
The baby will ride Rhaegal!
I agree about Jon being a swordsman but…. I also think that Jon is the one that is destined to go head to head, one on one with the Night King. If the Night King’s butt is planted on a flying dragon, Jon is going to have to step up his game and get on a dragon too! (Not just Dany/dragon😂) This is of course assuming that Dany doesn’t knock his butt right off her baby the minute she sees Viserion again. 😢😡THAT’S MY BABY!!!😡🐲🔥😁
Why are dragons fire seen as the good guys while ice the walkers the bad guys come on people, your looking at the story the completely wrong way,
