Stranger Things season 4 is so close, it’s difficult to concentrate on anything today. It’s only a matter of hours before our friends from Hawkins and the world of The Upside Down are back!
Season 4’s nine-episode season has been split into two parts. Volume 1 drops on Netflix on May 27 with the first seven episodes. Episodes 8 and 9 will be arrive July 1.
A new season means there’s new cast members and characters. The first episodes of seasons lay out the ground work for the rest of the season, and that’s when new characters and storylines are usually introduced.
So here’s the fresh new faces who are coming to Hawkins (and other spots!), and who they’re playing in the upcoming season.
Who are the new cast members in Stranger Things season 4?
In Hawkins
Joseph Quinn as Eddie Munson
29-year-old British actor Joseph Quinn takes on the role of Eddie Munson. He’s the head of the Hawkins High D&D Club, which Dustin and Mike will be a part of. TVLine shared:
Hated by those who don’t understand him — and beloved by those who do — Eddie will find himself at the terrifying epicenter of this season’s mystery.
Quinn has appeared on an episode of Game of Thrones as Koner, the Les Misérables television series, and in Catherine the Great.
Grace Van Dien as Chrissy Cunningham
Actress Grace Van Dien will play Chrissy Cunningham, the lead cheerleader and most popular girl at Hawkins High. But beneath the seemingly perfect surface lies a dark secret. The 25-year-old has appeared in shows like The Village and Greenhouse Academy.
Mason Dye as Jason Carver
Another newcomer the show is welcoming is actor Mason Dye who plays Jason Carver, a handsome and rich athlete dating Chrissy. But as a new evil threatens Hawkins, his perfect world begins to unravel. You can catch a glimpse of the basketball player in the Stranger Things Volume 1 trailer. The 27-year-old actor has been on shows like Teen Wolf and The Goldbergs.
Amybeth McNulty as Vickie
Netflix fans will recognize actress Amybeth McNulty as the lead in Anne With an E. The Irish-Canadian actress will play Vickie, a cool and fast talking band nerd who catches the eye of one our beloved heroes. Canadian film All My Puny Sorrows is also part of the 20-year-old actresses’ filmography.
Myles Truitt as Patrick
Another basketball star headed our way is Patrick, portrayed by actor Myles Truitt. Patrick has friends, talent, and a good life until shocking events send his life spiraling out of control. You’ll find the 20-year-old actor on television series Queen Sugar and Black Lightening.
Sherman Augustus as Lt. Colonel Sullivan
Actor Sherman Augustus takes on the role of Lt. Colonel Sullivan, a no-nonsense man who believes he knows how to stop the evil in Hawkins. Based on him being a lieutenant, I’m guessing the government is going to get involved in the affairs in Hawkins. The former NFL player has appeared in television shows including NCIS and Westworld.
Regina Ting Chen as Ms. Kelly
Ms. Kelly, played by actress Regina Ting Chen, is a popular guidance counselor at Hawkins High who cares deeply for her students, especially those struggling the most. You’ll catch the actress in both Marvel Studios and DC Entertainment as she portrayed Crew Chief in Watchmen and Chandler Tong in Black Lightning.
In Russia
Tom Wlaschiha as Dmitri
German actor Tom Wlaschiha takes on the role of Dmitri, a smart and charming Russian prison guard. I’m going to take a guess that we’ll see this character interact with Hopper. He’s been in numerous German projects, but U.S. viewers will recognize him as Jaqen H’ghar in Game of Thrones.
Nikola Djuricko as Yuri
Yuri, portrayed by actor Nikola Djuricko, is an unpredictable Russian smuggler who loves bad jokes, cold hard cash, and crunchy style peanut butter. The Serbian actor has appeared in movies such as World War Z and television series For All Mankind.
In California
Eduardo Franco as Argyle
Fun-loving stoner and pizza delivery boy, Argyle, is one of the new faces in Stranger Things season 4. Eduard Franco plays the new character who becomes Jonathan’s best friend in California. And based on some of the teases from Netflix, he certainly looks to be a fun addition! Catch the 27-year-old actor in the 2020 film, The Binge (Grace Van Dien also appeared in this film!). And if you’ve watched American Vandal on Netflix, then he’s a familiar face.
Unknown location
Robert Englund as Victor Creel
A very important character this season, Victor Creel is played by veteran actor Robert Englund. The 74-year-old is best known for playing supernatural serial killer Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street. The Duffer Brothers, aka the creators of Stranger Things, have cited that the 80’s film series is one of the inspirations for all the scary stuff coming up in season 4. Victor Creel is a disturbed and intimidating man who is imprisoned in a psychiatric hospital for a gruesome murder in the 1950’s. You’ll definitely recognize the character in the Stranger Things trailer – he’s the man with his eyes cut out!
Jamie Campbell Bower as Peter Ballard
All you Twihards out there will definitely recognize actor Jamie Campbell Bower who played Caius, one of the three ancient leaders of the Volturi. In Stranger Things, he takes on the role of Peter Ballard, a caring man who works as an orderly at a psychiatric hospital. Is it the same hospital where Victor Creel is? The 33-year-old has appeared in films like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Fantastic Beasts, as well as television series Camelot.
You can see all the new cast members starting Friday, May 27 when Stranger Things season 4 volume 1 drops on Netflix!
