This past Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones ended with Jaime Lannister charging at Daenerys Targaryen, intent on killing her. At the last second, Drogon bent down to protect his momma with a blast of fire to Jaime’s face, but before it made contact, someone tackled Jaime into the nearby lake, whereupon he sank like a stone.

But nevermind that last bit. Who exactly tackled Jaime into the drink? Now, I’m gonna skip right to the end here and reveal that it’s Bronn, a conclusion to which many fans came to the second they saw it. But I’ve seen enough comments from people who thought it was Dickon Tarly that I thought it could use clarification.

As you can see above, Dickon Tarly is wearing metallic armor and riding a lovely brown horse. Also, he’s wearing gloves.

When we first see him, Bronn is also riding a brown horse, although he loses it when a Dothraki soldier cuts off its leg. (Ugh.) Now take a look at what Bronn’s wearing: a brown outfit with fingerless gloves. He doesn’t look like he’s in plate armor like Dickon — he’s wearing a tunic.

Now here’s a shot of Jaime getting tackled into the water:

The guy who tackles Jaime is riding a white horse. If it’s Dickon, he lost his horse and found another at some point during the battle. If it’s Bronn, he just found another horse. And this point-of-view shot makes it pretty clear that he found a white one:

Plus, whoever tackles Jaime has fingerless gloves, like Bronn.

Finally, as viewed from the back, the outfit of the guy who tackles Jaime just looks more like the one Bronn is wearing.

In conclusion, Bronn saved Jaime’s life…from dragonfire. Let’s see if he can do anything about the drowning.
