Who will win the Game of Thrones is up for debate! In Game of Thrones Season 7 we found out that Jon Snow is indeed Rhaegar Targaryen’s son but does that mean he will sweep right in and take the throne? House Targaryen was disposed off by Robert Baratheon so does Jon Snow even have a claim at all?

  1. I think the idea that it’s up for grabs is the most fair. From what I’ve seen through out the whole series, the people of Westeros will follow who ever has the power. Despite the rumors of Jeorffry not be the Kong’s son, the people didn’t rise up and help Stannis take his rightful seat on the Throne. Despite Danny coming back, there is no mention of any supporters in Westeros. The common people don’t seem to care and the Nobility obviously don’t care. The strongest rule.

  2. Westeros is way past arguments over who has the better claim. That's for peaceful transfers of power where there exists a consensus among the noble houses. Heck the only major houses left are those of the claimants.

  3. I think that Jaime will take the throne. I believe his character progression has put him in the best spot to be the best King to date. I think Dany will die TBH, and Jon won't want it. Making Jaime a king who truly needs a hand. But quick video idea. Who do you think would serve as best hand of the King for each possible claimer?

  4. The true heir is the one who holds the throne or wins it through conquest and if Daenerys who have dragons win it through conquest then she has the strongest claim, not Jon Whoever. Also Jon Snow father wasn't the King before his death and the King at the time (the Mad King) had 2 heirs after his death in Viserys and then Daenerys. So Jon Whoever only have a normal claim over Daenerys (not Viserys if he was alive) base on him being a male. But her taking the iron throne back through conquest would throws that out the window. #OneTrueKingStannis

  5. Jon also bent the knee to Daenerys. The realm may not recognize that for factoring succession but Jon is a man of his word and may step back in favor of Daenerys as true heir. Jaime may abdicate his claim because of the bad blood towards House Lannister by the realm. Gendry has no political pull with anyone to enforce his claim and may settle for the Stormlands instead. The North may protest initially that their King is being forced off of the Iron Throne but are then surprised by the marriage of Jon/Aegon and Daenerys…if they survive the war.

  6. How's jaimie is successor to tommen? As his mothers brother or as his actual father? If it's his mothers brother then that's a really weak claim. Cersei and gentry have a better claim in this sense. If it's as his actual father then that would weaken tommens claim as king and therefore Jaimies claim. I don't think Jaimie had any claim

  7. Well it all depends if we go by the show rhaegar annulled his marriage to Elia martell so young aegon would now be a bastard giving Jon snow the strongest claim as rhaegar's only now true born child

  8. It does not matter that John was in the nights watch. His vows for the nights watch was until he was dead. Jon died and at that time his watch was ended. So when he was brought back he did not owe the nights watch anything. IMHO

  9. Technically Jaime, Tyrion, and Gendry, Jon/Aegon, and Dany, in that order. One could argue Gendry sits at the top of that list. Robert Baratheon was not dethroned, although their are no known close true born cousins we know about. House Targaryen was not "usurped," they were dethroned on the battlefield. Gendry is also related to the Targaryen line through Robert Baratheon and a female ancestor.

If they were to hold some kind of Great Council to decide on whose king, then Jon/Aegon would probably win the vote, being trueborn.

  10. After 7 seasons of Kings and Queens rising and falling you get to the point where the words 'the rightful heir' grinds your gear's and they have absolutely no meaning. I don't care if there is no throne at the end of the series, as long as my favourite characters are alive at the end.

  11. Arya is going to take Little finger's face to King's Landing. Kill Cerci, and clam the throne for house Stark. Give John, aka Agon the throne, and be named warden of the the River Lands….

  12. I cant lie, i hopped on the GoT train about a year ago (i know, shame), and the theory/GoT youtube channel train only a month or so ago.. but i must say, finding your channel makes me regret shame #1 and 2 tenfold.

Even putting aside the fact your voice sounds like angels singing during an orgasm, your theories/breakdowns and the way you present them are all kinds of awesome, and you deserve far more subscribers and attention then you have. I hope you keep at it, and the depressing wait between seasons were stuck suffering together doesn't result in your channel going quiet. I also hope we can be youtube husband and wife and make GoT named Youtube children, but i gotta pace myself.

Frealsies though, love your content miss Gray… miss area? Miss grizzle wizzle. From a random canadian

  13. Robert took the throne from the Targaryans.  The House of Baratheon rightfully won and took the throne while no one took it from any Baratheon.  That's how the game of the throne is played.  Should Daenarys Stormborn unseat the false Lannister line of succession she would have to take it from the remaining Baratheon to rightfully claim it.  Gendry Firehammer.  Who Cersi will legitimize thinking him to be her son with Robert.  The sick baby who must have somehow survived.

Jon has been proclaimed the King in the North after rightfully relinquishing his Lord Commander role upon his death and accepting this proclamation.  This doesn't preclude his ability to seize the iron throne for the North and the north then could rule all of Westeros.   Good thing they are all friends now.

  14. I think Jon and Gentry have the rightful claim. I believe joining Families will result issues. Jamie dies then Tyrion is king right? Stark + Lannister, Baratheon + Stark and every one's die thories. original George RR Martin plot line GreyArea who will win?

  15. Robert did not just claim the throne through conquest. He claimed it through his targ bloodline (his grandmother) this legitimacy was also pushed by the maesters. Not just by conquest. Roberts claim was 100% legitimized not "taken by conquest"

  16. Daenerys is going to take the throne by force end of story. Aegon fused the kingdom into one there was none until he made it with blood & fire. The Targaryen dynasty ruled for over 300 years not 283. The throne does not belong to whoever takes it. Unless you live under barbarism. There must be support from the most powerful nobility & from the small folk in order for an overthrow to be successful. Ask yourselves, how long did the Baratheon kingship last? How long has the Lannister tyranny lasted? Has it been prosperous & peaceful for the realm? Tommen& Joffrey had no right to the throne which is why Ned Stark was going to expose them as the forbidden, products of incest. Tommen & Joffrey were also Lannister bastards which amounts to total frauds. Robert Baratheon's heirs were Stannis–even Renly. But they were beaten by Cersei. The lords of Westeros would have never continued to support Cersei, She would be driven from the throne & exiled if not executed knowing she schemed the throne away from the Baratheons. There would be major consequences coming from Baratheon supporters. Jaime would have NO claim to the throne. He broke his king's vow to slay one, king and betray another by sexing his sister and siring bastards who have no claim to inherit anything. Jaime & Cersei would have brought house Lannister down in disgrace. The Targaryen's were no longer in power and incest is a taboo in Westeros. This is nothing but Lannister plot armor. Most of the lords of Westeros would never support what the Lannisters did. The kingdom was bankrupt and Cersei has been a terrible, failure as a ruler. She'd have been overthrown and killed long ago along with her bastard children. Ned probably would have killed her as hand. Men want nothing to do with deceitful wives who whore and trick them into supporting some other males genetic spawn.

  18. I'm confussed because Rhaegar never became king, and he died before King Aerys was killed, and after Rhaegar died it went Viserys because King Aerys was still alive, and now that Viserys is dead, Aerys' next child is his heir.
Weird, Rhaegar was not king, and so he had no heirs to become queen or king, if his dad Aerys is still king after Rhaegar died, and Viserys was named automatically Aerys' heir because his brother never became king before he and Aerys died, and Viserys was already named Prince of Dragonstone automatically after Rhaegar's death, and now Daenerys is technically speaking, the heir to the Iron throne because her brother Viserys was the fightful king, but he had no children yet, so it then goes to Aerys' next oldest, Daenerys.
Also, Jon literally bent the knee to Daenerys and submitted himself to her rule.
