Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington allegedly checked into a luxury rehab in secret close to a month ago.

PageSix reported that the 32-year-old star checked into the wellness retreat before the finale of GOT aired – the show which has, so far, largely defined his career as an actor.

The publication also suggests that the centre Kit has been staying at is a $120,000 (£94,000) a month luxury wellness retreat Privé-Swiss in Connecticut, where he has access to cognitive behavioral therapy, psychological coaching and meditation.

Kit’s presence in this rehab centre was confirmed by a representative of his, who said in a statement to Metro.co.uk: ‘Kit has decided to utilise this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues.’

Why has Kit Harington gone to rehab?

A source close to Kit has alleged that Kit is in the wellness centre ‘predominantly for stress and exhaustion’, but also having turned to alcohol once Game of Thrones came to an end after going on for almost a decade.

The source said: ‘The end of ‘GoT’ really hit Kit hard …

‘He realised “this is it — this is the end”, it was something they had all worked so hard on for so many years. He had a moment of, “what next”?

‘He’s in the clinic predominantly for stress and exhaustion and also alcohol.’

Kit has played one of the show’s most important characters, Jon Snow, for the past nine years, having risen to fame for playing the role from season one at the age of 23.

Kit previously told Esquire that he ‘broke down’ right after the last episode of the series was filmed back in July, saying: ‘My final day of shooting, I felt fine… I felt fine… I felt fine… then I went to do my last shots and started hyperventilating a bit.

‘Then they called “Wrap!” and I just f***ing broke down. It was this onslaught of relief and grief about not being able to do this again.

‘It wasn’t so much about Jon. It was about not being in this world, not getting to smell those smells, fight those fights, be with these people – the whole package.’

As for what Kit’s next project might be, he told RadioTimes.com earlier this year: ‘Comedy? Yeah, I’d love to.

‘I love it. I love doing really stupid s**t, so that’s what I want to do.’

Representatives for Kit Harington have been contacted by Metro.co.uk for further comment.
