Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon had an impressive first season; some were of the opinion it was better than the first season of the original show. Fans and critics have praised the costumes, the scenery, the sets, the storyline and the filmography alike, however, they did have an issue with the use of wigs on various characters. The show’s star Harry Collett, who played Jacaerys Velaryon, already has long flowing hair in real life, reminiscent of his true father on the series, Harwin Strong, and even he had to wear a wig.

Why Harry Collett wore a wig in House of The Dragon?
Speaking to Adele James on the podcast In The Room, Collett explained why he had to wear a wig, “I went for a hair and makeup fitting, and I had short hair, short back and sides. It looked like I’d come straight from a Turkish barber, which I did. And they were like, ‘What are you doing? That’s not medieval hair.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, good point.’
“No one told me, though. to be fair…I’d heard of Game of Thrones but I hadn’t even watched it at that point so I didn’t really know if it had certain hair requirements, you know what I mean? So they were like, ‘Right, we’re gonna have to go for the wig.’ And I was like, ‘Okay.’ So they brought out this wig…And it was great, but I did think they were joking.”
