  1. the "time warps" have been solved. The Film Theorists did a video explaining it. GOT is set in a fantasy world, we don't know the characters relative size and scale to the land they are on. there ARE giants in GOT universe. every assumption about world size must go out the window. assuming the humans in GOT are actually bigger that we assume, they could travels much farther in a shorter amount of time because they are covering more ground with every step.

  2. George martin implied in an interview that a couple of tyrells who aren't in the show (2 of margery's brothers i think) will play a huge part in the next book. This alone tells us the whole faith militant/margery being arrested storyline will have a lot more depth to it than the show.

  3. In regards to stannis in season 5, you could easily have made a few extra episodes out of his march to conquer the north. His story was really intense when he decides to march against winterfell but the weather causes his men and horses to suffer. I think book stannis will be in a very poor position when he gets to winterfell, the mercenary army won't arrive in time and stannis can't afford to retreat so he'll just try to do as much damage as possible.

  4. Season 7 made me want to re-read the books. What i noticed over the last few seasons after talking to people i know, they were more interested in big battles and the spectacle side of things than what Thrones was originally about (politics, scheming, character building, world building). I remember some of my friends were complaining about how dull the faith militant arc was in season 5 & 6 because there was no action. But i loved how Cersei's plans were being undone and the Faith was going hard on her and it got to the point where the lannisters and Tyrells were having to scheme to bring the Faith down. That was classic Thrones in my opinion.

  5. I think it was a good decision to make it zombies vs humans, because most of the characters left alive since season 5-6 were uninteresting to me. Littlefinger, John, Kingslayer and Sansa were the only ones I really enjoyed that were alive this season. Who cares about a nihilistic drunken dwarf, or some random cut-off-dick black dude w GF, for example?
