  1. Just as Warner has had a stranglehold on DC since the 1960s – in my opinion the reason why DC is struggling against Marvel in the movies – Disney is now starting to do the same thing to Marvel. This is what inevitably happens when a creative company gets bought out by a massive corporate machine. The Disney stranglehold over Marvel's creative flexibility is beginning…

  2. We're already getting superhero fatigue and Netflix Original series have much better franchises than Marvel. I've already given up on the whole convoluted 'universes' of Marvel, DCU etc. It's just too blatant a marketing ploy.

  3. So far as the "Disney-fication" of shows like Daredevil, have you ever checked the credits?  Netflix air the shows, they don't make them.
    They're produced by ABC… they're already "Disney-fied"

  4. Honestly for the new streaming service I could see them attempt to use Squirrel Girl for it. They can make it more like something you'd find on Freeform and pull in the older teen set for sure. Because that's a crowd they're going to have to appeal to as well outside of the Disney Channel, Disney XD, and Disney Junior crowd they get on their rebranded three channels in one Disney Now app. But this whole deal makes me wonder, will all the ABC stuff be leaving Hulu, which Disney has a stake in along with other major television providers, and going only to the new streaming service. Because right now outside of your cable provider's On Demand and the cloud based DVR from the Satellite services here in America Hulu the next day is the only way some people can watch ABC content.

  5. Too many companies trying to get into the paid streaming service on their own. I don't have infinite money to pay for all these monthly subscriptions, and as big as Disney's library is, its probably not worth it.

  6. I don't see why Disney streaming can't do a two tiered system. A basic cheap version for mainstream audiences with G to PG content. Then on the add-on tier at a slightly higher price, you get everything, including the more mature shows from Disney's vast holdings. Even then the service should include parental locks to limit viewing of certain materials. Each rated R show would also come with a button at the beginning of each series/seasons that would require one to acknowledge the content being viewed is for mature audiences only. With these safeguards in place, stupid parents cannot claim ignorance. In fact, if they come home and catch their kids watching mature materials like The Punisher, Disney should report the parents for neglect. They should even advertise that "We are not your child's babysitter." People are morons, and should take responsibility for their actions and their negligence.

  7. I do not think it is likely that Netflix going to lose their shows. Given Disney's track record it seems unlikely that they will promote their own streaming service as anything but family friendly. I think it would be easier to just let Netflix cover the cost and take the blame for all the gore and sexual content while Disney quietly makes a profit on both Netflix's contracts as well as their own streaming service.

  8. Picture the Defenders as 4 kids from different parts of New York and they just try to get there Parents to like each other and find a missing cat from time to time XD just beeing nice New York kids because they are all such heartwarming fellas over there XD XD

  9. Disney will probably start up a Power Pack show, about four kids (two brothers and two sisters, all under the age of 13) get superpowers from an alien horse. And the have to save the world while hiding the fact the they are superheroes from there parents.

  10. If Disney did The Punisher, it would be like Lethal Weapon. I don't think he'd kill less, but it would be off camera and full of quips.
"Frank, You blew up the entire building!"
"It wasn't like they weren't already dead when I blew it up. They were badguys, no one is going to miss Goon #1-15"
    "Those men could've had families"
"Well, she should've known this could happen when she changed her name to Mrs. Goon"

  11. OH, GOD!! I just imagined what Disney could've done with Jessica Jones' first scene, when Luke Cage is pounding her with all his might! A peck on the lips and that's it, "We are engaged now"
