When last we saw Daario Naharis (Michiel Huisman) on Game of Thrones, Daenerys Targaryen left him in charge of the Bay of Dragons after dumping him. But is that the last we’ll see of Dany’s one-time paramour? Digital Spy asked that question of Huisman himself, who gave a very Game of Thrones answer:
I can’t wait to see the finale! I don’t know what to say. I shouldn’t spoil anything so I’m not gonna tell you.
So you’re saying there’s a chance? What? You’re saying I’m delusional?
On the one hand, Huisman doesn’t outright deny a return, and even implies he knows something about the finale; you can’t spoil something if you know spoilers, after all. And it’s not hard to picture Daario leaving Meereen to try and help Daenerys if he gets word of how poorly her war has gone. On the other hand, knowing something about the final episodes doesn’t mean he’s in them. Or maybe all he knows is that Daario isn’t in the finale, which would in itself be a spoiler.
We may be overthinking this.
In any case, Huisman called his time on Thrones a “fantastic experience.”
I learned a lot. It created so many opportunities that otherwise might have taken a lot longer. Like being part of this show.
One of those opportunities includes starring as supernatural writer Steven Crane in Netflix’s new series The Haunting of Hill House, which drops October 12. Watch the trailer below:
With respect to Huisman, I will not be watching that; I like my sleep undisturbed. As for Game of Thrones, we’ll have to wait until 2019 so see if Daario will come riding to the rescue once more.
