Every week, we take to Facebook Live to discuss the latest goings-on in the world of Game of Thrones, and to take a closer look at the Song of Ice and Fire novels. It’s WiC Live, and we stream it every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. CST on our Facebook page.
At this point, every Game of Thrones fan knows that we’re staring down the barrel of a long off-season while we wait for season 8 to debut in 2019 (or until The Winds of Winter is released, but as we point out, there’s been nary a peep about that). But we can still find ways of entertaining ourselves. This week, we turn over an issue that HBO programming president Casey Bloys brought up at the Critics Choice Awards: how would we feel about the prospect of a Game of Thrones remake? We know prequels are on the way, but somewhere down the line, will people be interested in a retelling or reboot?
After that, Josh Hill joins me for another installment of A Song of Dan and Josh, where we walk through the Song of Ice and Fire series a chapter at a time, mining them for insight and understanding. I’ve read the books multiple times, while Josh has only ever watched the show up to this point. We’re still on A Game of Thrones, because this series is enormous, and this week tackle the second chapters for both Arya and Daenerys. I found the Daenerys chapter in particular to be very beautifully written.
We’ll be back this upcoming Wednesday with more. Hope to see you there!
